The fanservice level of this series has been steadily rising over the past few weeks.
This show began as an over the top gore fest, with bodies being sliced up left and right. Yet despite this incredibly graphic brutality, the show always maintained kind of a goofy comedy feel, almost like the kind of vibe you’d get from a show like Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere.
Eventually, this series introduced fanservice, though usually at best it was “Garden of Eden” styled non-nudity with long hair always flowing down in the front. So seeing the following in episode 12 was interesting:
That seems a bit showy doesn’t it? And with White Fox’s history with Jormungand , we know that they have no issues with making R-rated changes on blu-ray.
This makes the rest of the series worth keeping tabs on, with a full season of episodes still left to go.
Episode 13 and 14 were low on potential nudity, but it’s clear as day that this series has gone from having fanservice being an afterthought to making it a major feature, especially in episode 14:
The next episode to air will apparently involve swimsuits, too.
It should be interesting to see how this show unfolds in its second cour. It’s worth mentioning that there is a fairly substantial history of two-cour animes getting sexier in the second half, in fact we just saw a great example of this with Strike the Blood , which saved almost all of their most risque scenes for episodes 13-24.
