Minor derriere censorship is a theme this time around. There’s also one scene that might just hint at an R-rated redraw.
Hazing is the central theme in this episode. After having her uniform torn to shreds and having her locker vandalized, Ange retaliates by slashing the top of the instigator’s uniform. The shoulder straps come a tumblin’ down, and in an anime like FREEZING this would be a tit-shot for sure.
No such luck here, but the way the moment is animated with a bit of a delay sort of hints that a redraw might be coming. We saw something pretty similar to this moment in Yuushibu , when Airi’s bikini top slips loose (it ended up airing on AT-X with R-rated changes).
There’s also a few butt shots that are obscured slightly by steam or darkness, and plenty of casual fanservice moments as usual.
Not that I expect the BD to have bells and whistles, but this episode left itself open to a DxD New styled added scene when three of the antagonist girls have an implied lesbian threesome.
All that is nice, but I have to be frank. This anime is pretty bad, and it’s kinda rotten on the inside. The themes and characters just keep hitting all the wrong notes. I know the show looks sexy, but I can’t really recommend this anime on any level.
I would be more than a little pissed if Sunrise pulled a Project No.9 and trolled us with non-nudity on BD. Because at this point, fanservice is all Cross Ange has got.
Given how bad the anime is, and how low the budget appears to be (after looking so good in that first episode), what have they got to lose? Hopefully they see it the same way.
