Thoughts on the anime
Most of what made the late 90s hit FLCL so unique was a direct result of a ridiculously talented oddball of a director: Kazuya Tsurumaki. He of course directs this anime, Diebuster, as well. That same free spirit that made FLCL stand out so much is in full display in Diebuster, making it feel much more like a sequel to FLCL than a sequel to Gunbuster.
This anime felt like a bad idea from the very start. Though FLCL was not my cup of tea personally, and though I like nudity in anime, I am very thankful FLCL avoided nudity. It didn’t need to be any weirder. Because Diebuster felt more like FLCL than Gunbuster, the nudity in it just felt… unwelcome. Out of place.
That’s what I’d tell you if I was wearing my anime fan hat. But here I run an ecchi blog dedicated to boobs and nudity. And for that I say huzzah! Boobies! Though the fanservice here wasn’t quite on par with Gunbuster, the overall nudity volume is pretty comparable, and I don’t know if there has ever been a prettier anime ever to show nude fanservice. It’s kind of mind blowing how good this anime looks for a show that was made in 2003. A decade ago!

It’s short. Not much else to say. I liked how Nono’s topless power kick scene looked in slow mo. That was kinda neat.
