Heavy on 3DCG. Light on angst. But with a shower scene! The question is will nudity lightning strike thrice for J.C. Staff???

Wizard had this to say about the Heavy Object anime TV series:
It’s [a new anime] based off a 2009 light novel written the same author as A Certain Magical Index – Kazuma Kamachi. The illustrations for this novel [are] only occasionally ecchi and mildly so at that. It’s interesting to note that the shower scene does not appear in the light novels or in either of the manga adaptations, which could potentially be a great sign if it means JC Staff is taking liberties. There is a ‘shower scene’ between Froleytia (hot ‘older’ female) and Heivia (young male lead) in the 2nd chapter of the first novel, but it’s a make shift battlefield shower and according to the LN text, nothing of Froleytia is seen.
The story is basically a futuristic battlefield genre type. It’s solidly shounen, in terms of demographic it’s very similar to the full metal alchemist key audience. Which is why I didn’t [mention] it, just seemed like the kind of show that would never go for nudity.
Kazuma Kamachi also wrote two manga adaptations to his Heavy Object novel. The first is just one volume long and was almost 100% fanservice free. It had just one nice shot of Froleytia undressing and it came near the very end.
The second spinoff manga though, Heavy Object S (two volumes out of three can be found on nyaa), has significantly more fanservice including some non-nude bare boobs to the face. There’s also a shot very early in the S manga where Froleytia’s areola can be seen behind some hair. I have no idea what’s on volume three, it could be full blown tits or nothing.
The Heavy Object anime is set for 24 episodes, I’m guessing concurrently. It’s definitely interesting that JC Staff apparently added a shower scene that’s not from the novel or manga.
Military SF with hot girls and a shower scene? Sounds promising. Let’s check it out…
Episode 01
The first episode is mostly character introduction and setup but nicely surprises by not taking too long to dive into an unexpected shower scene.
Her name is Milinda Brantini. She’s the pilot of a super mech called an Object. Seems to be a cold but mild tsundere….
First up is the all important shower scene. Lots of visual evidence had to be gathered and analyzed (including both normalized and filtered images).
Nice Ass. Nice ED. Maybe all ends should have asses???
If you’re going to show off a woman’s figure, show off ALL of her figure….

Overall
Overall, so far, Heavy Object is a well made and different kind of mecha show with hot girls and not a lot of angst. But I’m partial to military SF. Even if I’m not a huge fan of mecha shows. YMMV.
One of my initial impressions is that this show really knows how to show off the female form. Not just boobs. Even asses, thighs and legs. Nice. Unexpected. Good counterbalance for the military SF parts of the show…
Now can we unexpectedly expect nudity on the BDs?

The first episode of the anime opens with a shower scene that does not appear in the novel or in the manga adaptations, which suggests that J.C. Staff might take some liberties with this series. Normally you’d just assume no chance, but considering the liberties J.C. Staff just took with Shimoneta and the financial success of Prison School , it’s fair to wonder about Heavy Object‘s prospects for nudity. Especially considering the borderline nudity from Heavy Object S .
Later on, he had this to say:
Basically, before I researched Heavy Object I figured 0% chance of nudity. Now that I’ve researched it, I’d say 10% chance.
Before Prison School and Shimoneta, the odds of nudity on BDs from JC Staff were basically none. Now the odds are higher. Hopefully, higher than 10%. In the meantime, here’s hoping that Heavy Object keeps showing off the female form and adding fanservice that’s not in the light novels or the manga.

“Episodes 01 – 01” was intentional. The plan is to review a batch of episodes as significant fanservice occurs. It just so happens there was a shower scene in the very first episode.
