The new OVA will come bundled with an artbook which is scheduled to hit store shelves on December 19th.
The new OVA promises to be “(the) most sexy OVA in the Hyakka Ryouran franchise.” That’s not saying much of course, Hyakka Ryouran has never had an OVA before (unless you count the disc specials as OVAs). But anyway, it’s never a bad thing to hear illusions of grandeur from the producers.
Speaking of which, it appears the Hyakka Ryouran brand has been scooped up by Hobby Japan, the same company responsible for the Queen’s Blade franchise as well as the long awaited Seven Deadly Sins OVAs (announced almost 2 years ago yet still are without a release date). Artist Niθ has always been the character designer for both Hyakka Ryouran and Queen’s Blade Alice , and as a matter of fact this OVA is being bundled with one of his artbooks, so it’s possible the partnership began from there.
Hopefully the involvement of Hobby Japan will mean more financial backing for a third season of Hyakka Ryouran some day down the road.
