Sensing budding romantic feelings, Saki orders her friend and bodyguard Rin to lure Rito into an informal date.
Rin could be seen blushing after Rito had saved her in an earlier chapter, so we get the feeling that she is, at least passively, interested in Rito and not complaining about the arrangement.
Saki seems to enjoy playing the role of match-maker. It seems like she would be a natural ally for Momo’s harem plan down the road.
Anyway, this chapter starts off as a fairly standard ‘date’ story. Even though Rito and Rin show real sparks of chemistry, Saki still thinks she needs to meddle to get the mood going. Saki brings in an orchestra to play which actually distracts Rito and Rin.
Saki then doubles down by disguising herself and her friend Aya as clothing store attendants as Rin walks by a fashion outlet.
Saki and Aya grab Rin, take her to the changing area and strip her completely naked before replacing her ordinary clothes with a more enticing outfit.
This brings out Rin’s shy side.
Anyway, Rito and Rin run along, and experience more bonding. Rin confides in Rito her fear of heights after she’s unable to get on a Ferris Wheel, something she had kept a secret even from Saki and Aya. This level of trust tells us that Rin feels secure around Rito, even as he has accidents like this:
The date reaches its conclusion, but not before concocting a contrived manner to get us some Saki service.
The dog (Maron) sees a butterfly, chases after it, and ends up frightening the ghost girl Oshizu, who is standing next to Saki. Having lost her wits, Oshizu blasts telekinetic energies into the air, which naturally cause Saki’s undergarments to go berserk.
And to the surprise of nobody at all, Rito somehow ends up with two handfuls and a nose halfway up Saki’s cooch. (As well as another nipple pinch that probably won’t make it into the anime.)
If you are a big fan of Rin, this chapter is worth a read. Their date is pretty cute, and does an effective job of establishing some needed chemistry between them.
