In what is unquestionably the most loaded ecchi anime season of all time, Bikini Warriors might have the least amount of pretense.
Here’s a quote from the show’s website that sums it up pretty well:
“The setting is a an RPG-style world with swords and magic, where adventurers form a party to challenge the demon king’s right to rule…
But, the adventurers all have beautiful breasts, enormous breasts, and bikini armor!”

This new anime could turn out like Queen’s Blade , or it could turn out like Momo Kyun Sword . Or maybe something inbetween, such as Blade and Soul . A lot will depend on the production company that helms it, which as of today, has yet to be disclosed.
What we do know is that this project is co-opted by Hobby Japan and Megahouse. Both are companies that make figurines. Hobby Japan specializes in erotic figurines, Megahouse is more diversified but does offer some figurines that can be stripped nude to show nipples.
Hobby Japan has often used anime as a form of advertisement for their erotic figurines. To my knowledge, every anime project they’ve backed so far has contained ‘stop whatever you’re doing and start fapping’ levels of nudity. If this one didn’t, I’m pretty sure it would be the first.
It’s hard to know how much Bikini Warriors will please ecchi fans until we find out which production company is involved, but based on the breast obsessive synopsis and Hobby Japan’s backing, I’d put the odds pretty high until we find indicators to the contrary.
Back when Hobby Japan launched Queen’s Blade , it was notable for the huge collection of top seiyuu talent it boasted. This time around, Hobby Japan is trying to attract attention to their product by enlisting something akin to a ‘dream team’ of artists to help create the six heroines:
Fighter (designed by Cute Devil Girlfriend manga artist Hisasi), a professional in hand-to-hand combat who is especially skilled at using close-range weapons. In fact, she actually doesn’t have any other special skills except for that. The Fighter overcomes her adversaries with just muscle and will.
Dark Elf (designed by Oda Non), a beautiful race that can use an extravagant sword and combine it with magic. She is quite good with her hands, and also has very good hearing. She can use her many skills to adapt to various adventures. However, she never gives her full effort in any situation.
Paladin (designed by Alice Soft‘s Onigiri-kun), a knight who uses every weapon in order to save the weak and defeat evil. It’s often thought that this class is far above rank in comparison to the Fighter, but her weakness is being held down by large amounts of foes. She also has the weak point of not being able to understand views of the commoner, as a majority of paladins are born from high-class families.
Mage (designed by Ninja Slayer From Animation character designer saitom), a class that is unskilled in close-range combat, but can take out an enemy in one hit with their powerful magic. She’s the bag of knowledge for the party, but isn’t very good at communicating.
Hunter (designed by Black Lagoon‘s Rei Hiroe), warriors that live in the wilderness. At times, she will hunt wild beasts, and at other times, she will make them her allies. She has much experience with the bow, and there is no one that can top her in survival tactics. On the other hand, she has little knowledge of modern tools, and it’s said she doesn’t even know how to shop.
Valkyrie (designed by Shining Hearts character designer Tony). It is said that ones that can be part of this race must be born with high levels of talent, or must have large amounts of experience. It is also said that they can only use spears chosen by God. She appears to have more powers than just the spear, but she won’t show those skills off so easily.

Bikini Warriors is set to release in July. It will air on television.
Will it be a full TV series or just an OVA? Nobody knows, but right now I’d say it’s more likely than not to be a full TV series. It’s uncommon for a short OVA series to air on TV, and the timing (July) suggests it will be a full TV series since most Summer season anime start in July. Not to mention, all the investment in getting these artists to collaborate, it all seems seems like too much for a short OVA series.
It’s also worth noting that all four of Hobby Japan’s previous TV ventures (Queen’s Blade , Samurai Girls , Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou , and Hagure Yuusha ) each had uncensored broadcasts on AT-X. So if this show does have nudity, there’s a good chance we might find out very quickly.
