Ecchi Miscellanea: Summer 2020 (Part 3)

Something old, something new… and something blue?

Save for Uzaki, other anime airing this summer provided at the very least a decent amount of fanservice, even if rather low-key (Here Part 1 and Part 2 of the review).

Shokugeki no Soma (Season 5, 2nd cour)

Not really the “2nd” cour, but just the remaining 11 episodes after the impromptu interruption of last season. Nothing really worth commenting, just Souma doing Souma things: Foodgarsms, people getting naked ’cause the food is too good and random cooking happening. In my personal opinion, while the PLOT of the season was in line with the previous seasons, the actual plot (the story, I mean the story) was a sort of throwaway. Stodgy, improvised and just missing the point, every time. But that’s my opinion, I heard that some people actually liked it.

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun T  (3nd cour)

As above, not really the 3rd cour, but the remaining episodes since this anime was interrupted too (hopefully this is the last time I repeat this). Here we get the old Railgun once again: Girls in action, some playful fanservice and a lot of boob-jokes. Pretty much what we were hoping for. It was entertaining, for the most part. Also it was nice to see again Frenda before she becomes Fre/nda.

Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha

Or “Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha: Shijou Saikyou no Maou no Shiso, Tensei shite Shison-tachi no Gakkou e“, translated “The Misfit of Demon King Academy: History’s Strongest Demon King Reincarnates and Goes to School with His Descendants ” which can actually be shortened in “The Misfit of Demon King Academy“. Which is all a huge mess, so let’s just go with Maou Gakuin (full review in due course). As you may have deduced from the title, this anime is a transposition of a fantasy novel, not isekai (strange). Basically, a legendary Demon King is reborn after two thousand years and enlisted to the local demon academy that the demon realm created to train the next demon king and his lieutenants. Then he proceeds to roast (metaphorically and literally) each and every idiot trying to explain him how a demon king should behave. Not ecchi, but gives some pleasant eyefuls of the rather sexy girls present in the show.

And these were all the major sources of fanservice of the last season. There are others, with rather limited eye candies, but we will cover them in the next review.

Farewell Fre/nda…
