Heavy on drama for a bit. But Heavy Object comes to its senses and goes back to the important stuff. Stuff like showing off the female form … and … naked massages!
Anime
More drama than service in Episodes 02 – 04. One thing that I do like about Heavy Object is they don’t dwell too much on angst. The characters get off their asses and do something about their angst. I’m not a fan of the angst in too many mecha shows.
Even better is that J.C. seems to have come to their senses and started ramping up fanservice in episode 04 beginning with a nude massage scene!
Episode 02
The beginning of a quick downfall arc. Too much drama. Too much talking. Even worse is very little fanservice or male gaze. On the other hand, the ED from episode 01 becomes the OP for episodes 02 onwards. With a lot less credits which makes it a lot easier to see important stuff like tits and asses and legs.
Milinda is shot down and captured.
Froleytia still looks great though. Especially her legs…
The end of the early downfall arc. A bit painful. Way too much talking. But at least the “male gaze” returns! Makes a big difference to this show. Now we just have to hope that fanservice returns in the next story arc! Plus more time for both fanservice and showing off the female form.
Some more screencaps from the OP that was the ED in episode 01. Froleytia’s figure looks so much better with less credits to get in the way. Can’t wait for the clean OP/ED on the BDs.

Now we’re talking! A two-minute naked massage scene to start the episode! Before the OP even. And more generous servings of male gaze. Plus they added sexual innuendo. Best episode so far. Now J.C. Staff needs to keep up the good work!
I wasn’t able to make any stitches from the nude massage scene due to breakage so I took plenty of video evidence instead! Plus lots of screencaps too. That’s one very high-tech nude massage though…
Eye Catches
At least the eye catches are getting sexier. And they are still plenty cute too…
Official Art
Starting to see just a little bit of fanservice in official art. Hopefully that’s a good sign for more fanservice in the anime and on BDs.
Fan Art
Does seem like more fan art is showing up on image boards. Hopefully that means Heavy Object is becoming popular.
Overall
Overall these 3 episodes were rushed as the creators went through a short downfall arc. Still too much talking. Show more. Talk less. And the more fanservice and male gaze they show, the better. Fortunately, things got back on track in episode 04 with start of a new, and hopefully longer, story arc. Hard to beat nude massage as a way to start a story arc. Plus ramping up the male gaze and adding sexual innuendo really helps. I’m still partial to the military SF aspect of the show but I do cringe a bit when they go into mecha engineer nerd mode. I’m still liking the anime girls a lot and hope we see more fanservice in future episodes!
So, once again, will we see nudity on the BDs? I’m more pessimistic than I was in the previous fanservice review. But there are opportunities starting with the shower scene in episode 01. I do hope we will see Milinda’s ass on the massage table on the BDs.
