The hit romantic comedy manga with a twist hits our screens with a certain mixed reaction.
Jitsu wa, Watashi wa is a fairly popular manga known for its. I guess, anti-harem cliches while still having some tropes of its own. The manga does not have much fanservice but the anime adaption does seem to be adding in some extra eye-candy here and there to potentially please a bigger crowd.
Episode 1
Shots from the (catchy) OP
Shiho does not look the greatest in the OP, hopefully she looks better in the actual show.
Now on to the episode itself.
Not much to say really, no chances of nudity but there is some sexy stuff there.
Episode 2
Less service I guess this episode but one sexy/funny scene of note.
Spanking time!
Write me down as humored and aroused,
Few shots/stitches from the ED.
I’m currently up to date with the Jitsu wa Watashi wa manga and I can confidently say that it is not an ecchi manga of any sorts. Sure there is eye candy here and there but it is mainly done out of comedic effect or is just not supposed to be arousing or sexy at all. However, from what I have seen with the anime so far, they are trying to add a little bit of service here and there to spice things up. Personally, I love Jitsu wa and I believe that it can stand on its own two feet regardless and doesn’t need a crutch like fanservice to keep it afloat, but hey, I’m biased.
Jitsu wa Watashi wa is being done by TMS surprisingly enough. TMS have been around for donkey’s years yet I cannot recall any real sighting of nudity in their anime, with the grand exception of Lupin III. TMS have been mainly a family friendly company, making stuff like Detective Conan and the like. I’m just wondering why they would pick up a show like Jitsu wa which kinda goes against the grain with them. The art style they are incorporating is…ehh. Jitsu wa has a very unique art style in the manga and it would be a near impossible task to replicate that in anime form. But even still, looking at Shiho and Akane I can’t help but feel they could have done a better job on them. I’m pretty sure Stockholm Syndrome will set in soon though and I will just get used to it.
