The lack of fanservice brings out the terrible flaws in this anime.
I’ll just get right into it. This episode was awful. Beyond awful. Where to begin? The awful idea of all human memories living in some “cloud” like Dropbox people can use. The awful idea of recreating memories of when Mai was a toddler to so Koito could access this “memory cloud”. The fact that KyoAni used this to ridiculous scenario to have Mai and Koito go on a date. They wanted to “sync” Mai’s fight skills, yet went to the time of when she was a toddler at an amusement park, not at a dojo.
Maybe it was the completely out of place 4th wall break in the middle of the episode by the annoying fairy. Was the the use of red paint to replace having to use blood? It may have been fact that Koito had to knock his head with Mai that finally unlocked his power to sync memories. I put it on that fact that this was a Nobel Prize winning discovery by high schoolers and nothing is done about it.
This episode saw a massive drop in quality plot wise. Funny, considering any hate on this show was directed at KyoAni relying on fanservice and pandering, yet this was easily the worst episode and barely had an ounce of fanservice to speak of.
As bored as I looked watching his episode.
Ok, I somewhat liked this old-timey power-up.
How excited people with shit taste looked watching this episode.
Wholly unnecessary 4th wall break.
Can’t emphasize enough how awful this scene was.
Wow, didn’t see this development coming. That was great. Really…really…great.
I lied. This was pretty much my face at the entire second half.
At least their loli forms were somewhat cute.
And because this episode was so lacking in fanservice…
