‘Magipoka’ was a gem way back from 2006. Rarely will you find a true ecchi series with this level of art and kawaii.

Thoughts on the anime
Just one of two anime helmed by the short-lived production company REMIC, Renkin San-kyuu Magical Pokaan was surprisingly well produced with art quality that appeals to just about any anime fan.
It wasn’t hard hitting, but it was fun to look at and full of charm. Without the fanservice it would have been a bit of a slice of life snoozefest, but the fanservice was more than enough to keep fanboys wide awake.

Thoughts on the fanservice video
The nipples are often very hard to see in this one, and I initially wanted to do some alternate versions with better contrast the same way I did for anime like To Love-Ru . Unfortunately, filtering didn’t have the desired effect and only made the video look worse, so I went with just a basic edit.
That was disappointing, but I think the video still turned out pretty nicely, mostly for the relatively subtle fanservice and sexy outfits.

Favorite Character
Every time I hear of Hitomi Nabatame’s voice, I always think of Margery Daw from Shakugan no Shana. Not that I loved that anime or character all that much, but her voice just seemed to fit that character like a glove. Lord knows she’s done a ton of ecchi, but my mind always makes this reference every time I hear her work.
So when I heard her voicing Liru I figured it wouldn’t work. It was too different. But once I got used to it, I thought she was a surprisingly good fit for the tomboyish Liru.
It’s not easy to be likable while basically dressing like a slut, but this character manages to do so and with panache. These qualities in Liru no doubt inspired many eye-catching cosplays over the years.
