Want a beach episode? A bath scene? Well, here’s a beach and TWO bath scenes.
While Shoujo-tachi wa Kouya wo Mezasu(Girls Beyond the Wasteland or Shokomeza) isn’t regularly cover here, we decided to highlight the fanservice from episodes 3 and 6. It’s a nice surprise to find an anime with good’ol fanservice with no steam/light censorship to be seen.

Here’s a synopsis from MAL: “Buntarou doesn’t know what he wants to do in the future. He does not have any kind of dream that he wants to pursue, so currently he just spends his days hanging around with his friends. One day, his classmate Sayuki asks him if he wants to help with development of a gal game. She says that she had become interested in his help after she read one of his works intended for the drama club. Buntarou doesn’t know anything about gal games, but Sayuki claims that she has the ability to make it a success. Can they make the game, and will it be a success like she claims it will be? This is the story of youths taking a daring step into the unknown…”
Interesting fact: an all-ages VN by Minato Softan(Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai!) is being released along side the 1st BD volume. The game is apparently a two-part story, with the anime being based on the 1st part.

This show makes plenty of jokes on clich’es in anime.
I doubt all script writers have this kind of pressure.

Thoughts on the Anime:
Shokomeza isn’t for everyone; pacing is slow and theme of making gal games is rather boring. On the other hand, the show’s unique characters and humor(plenty of jokes on anime and games) has made it enterataining at the very least. Given No. 9’s history, the chances for nudity on Blu-ray seem low but not zero.
