Nothing to watch for on BD here as episode five takes both the characters and nude fanservice hostage.
The first four volumes each covered a tankobon apiece, which makes sense because there are currently ten tankobon available for Triage X and the TV series is set for ten episodes (with a non-canonical OVA). This has meant very fast pacing, but it also meant we’d get to see all the sexy scenes in the manga to date.
Unfortunately, this episode DID NOT conclude the fifth tankobon which is disappointing for a couple reasons. The first is that it’s now somewhat doubtful that the series can cover the entire manga, and secondly, they chose basically the worst tankobon to stretch into two episodes, as the 5th tankobon had very little fanservice.
On the plus side, this episode was surprisingly enjoyable, since it moved at normal pacing rather than the double speed pace of the other episodes. Ironically, the more moderate pacing made the episode pass much faster, I was shocked when the end credits rolled, I figured the episode was only half-over.
But anyway, there was a moderate dose of tasteful boobage in this episode, with the best shots coming near the end.
It’s worth noting that the wet dresses do not reveal nipples in the manga, and given how meticulously faithful the anime has been to the manga so far, I’m not expecting them here either.
Additionally, there were some similar wet shirt scenes for Aki in Maken-Ki! Two that remained unchanged on BD. So I think it’s safe to say this episode will be non-nude.
On the anime side of things, this episode was a definite improvement over the previous arc. The new villain du jour has a great voice actor, I can scarcely believe it isn’t Hiroki Yasumoto (Sado from Bleach). Too bad none of these villains ever stick around very long.
I would say though that given the somewhat vanilla and episodic formula of this show, it’s not something I would recommend watching twice, even if it does have its moments. This is a good show to wait for BD on, as opposed to an instant classic like Shinmai Maou no Testament that is actually worth watching twice.
Next episode will likely finish off the idol abduction arc, and it will probably have one redrawn nude scene. Not expecting much else unless they decide to throttle the pacing again.
