Here we have it, the famous tentacle scene from the light novel / manga. We also get treated to a whole lot more blank-boobage, too. With this many blank boobs you almost wonder if they will have the balls to add nipples on blu-ray because if they did the sheer amount of R-rated nudity would be pretty mind-blowing for a show like this.
By any objective standard, this anime is all kinds of terrible. Lecherous to the point of self-embarrassment*, incoherent / nonsensical, and overly fast paced. Even by fanservice standards it could be slightly better (all the nude scenes so far have been brief).
For those who are curious, here’s a fanservice review for episodes four through six in blu-ray form, which as far as I know contained zero redraws or uncensorship.
I lost the streamed video for volumes 1 and 2 when the previous site went down, so here’s everything from volumes 1-4, which now includes volume three. I also added in the OVA compilation, this time in full 1080 BD quality. And for good measure, I tacked on the episode 12 AT-X scenes too. So this is basically about 80% of what the final video will look like.
The original Birdy the Mighty (aka Tetsuwan Birdy) manga from the mid-to-late 80s was basically a non-nude version of a Go Nagai type manga. The author would remake the manga 20 years later, and this time he didn’t settle for a PG-rating.
Above is a streamed version of the dubbed portion, which unfortunately only covers episodes 1-13. The fanservice specials were never given the dub treatment.
. A one-of-a-kind anime to be sure.
No nudity, no sexual censorship, nothing terribly exciting or beyond expectations here. Instead, we get plenty of action, graphic violence, and hilariously awkward CG dancing.
Faithful to the manga, the Seikoku no Dragonar anime overwhelms us early on with an almost unprecedented barrage of Barbie doll style nudity. Eco might as well be a nudist in the manga and the anime is faithful to that intention, which surprises me if only because the amount of nudity is just so much for a show like this.
Kenzen Robo Daimidaler is establishing itself as the most over the top ecchi series of the last few years. This second episode, with its intense focus on nipples, pleasure, and power ups, was very reminiscent of Seikon no Qwaser, but taken from the perspective of a shock-comedy rather than a serious drama.
