Kei and Yuri were originally junior auxiliary agents in the Worlds Works and Welfare Agency (3WA) when the two were paired together under the codename Lovely Angels, Kei was coming off her fourth probation for something she had done, and Yuri’s dating exploits were common knowledge, naturally the two had an instant dislike for each other when they met.

Dirty Pair Flash is a light novel series by Haruka Takachiho. Although it is often assumed that these are younger versions of the original Lovely Angels Kei and Yuri, in truth this series is an alternate universe retelling of the original Dirty Pair. Sunrise produced 16 OVA’s with the first OVA airing on January 21, 1994 and the final OVA airing on April 25, 1996. Directed by Tsukasa Dokite who also worked on the original Dirty Pair, Project A-Ko, and Urusei Yatsura. Kimura Takahiro served as Character Designer and Chief Animation Director.
