To Love-Ru Darkness OVA 08 (July 4th)
It was awesome. Moving along…
Luck and Logic vol.05
Luck and Logic is basically 2016’s version of Rail Wars! A fairly pointless show with great art and well drawn bodies that wasn’t really expected to go for nudity, and when it did, it partially salvaged an otherwise desolate ecchi season (Summer 2014, Winter 2016 respectively).
I haven’t followed this show at all so I have no idea what to expect in the final two volumes, but I figured I’d mention the release dates here just in case.
Hundred vol.02 (July 29th)
If Luck and Logic is this year’s Rail Wars!, then Hundred is this year’s ImoCho. There were several censored “nude” scenes in episode four, but we’ve already figured out that various objects (soap suds, hair strands, hands) were hiding underneath that steam. It’s fairly shameless censorship trolling, but I figured I’d mention the release just in case.
Hopefully Hundred will at least take the same path as Shomin Sample and add a random nipple sighting near the end of the series as a way to make up for the trolling.
Big Order vol.01 / 1st BD box (July 29th)
Big Order is doing something pretty interesting with their blu-rays.
Normally most anime series release limited edition volumes (two episodes per) on a monthly basis, and then a few months later release a comprehensive blu-ray box (so that consumers who waited can buy in bulk to save money). Big Order is doing things a bit differently, selling their first blu-ray box (which contains the contents of volumes one & two) a month before volume two comes out. Similarly, they are releasing the second blu-ray box (which contains the remaining volumes three through five) before the fourth and fifth limited editions hit store shelves.
So while we technically won’t see the fifth volume of this series release until late November, the entire series will be available a full two months prior to that for those who bought the blu-ray boxes.
Which means that if someone buys and shares / transmits the 1st BD box later this month, we could see volume two’s contents a month early, and if someone does the same in September for the 2nd BD box, we could see the whole series only two months from now.
Unfortunately, there was no overt censorship at any point in episodes one through four, and the product description does not mention specials or meaningful extras. So these first couple releases are probably going to be pointless, barring a major redraw surprise. The second BD box releases in September, and within it are all of the series nude scenes uncensored.
Misc. notes:
It was announced recently that Queen’s Blade Grimoire’s second OVA will release on September 28th.
