Rail Wars and Momo Kyun Sword are this month’s most intriguing releases. And they come out on the same day too.
October 2nd
Wizard Barristers vol.04
This has been one of the most disappointing BD releases in recent memory, but I’m still holding out hope that ARMS will right the ship.
October 8th
Seikoku no Dragonar vol. 04
This volume covers episodes seven and eight. Will they redraw Anya’s bonus shower scene from the AT-X airing to show nudity? They have previously left AT-X exclusive scenes alone on BD, but this would be a great place to start making changes.
October 22nd
Rail Wars! vol. 02
This is probably where Rail Wars! will debut BD nudity. The changing scenes from episode four were highly suggestive, and then you have the potentially amazing onsen scene that follows it.
Momo Kyun Sword vol. 01
Project No.9 will probably troll us until the end of time, but I feel pretty safe in saying that if Momo Kyun Sword does opt for nipples on BD, it will go down as one of the better ecchi anime of 2014. It feels like there’s no way in hell it will happen, but if it does, amazeballs.
Counter to the conventional wisdom of releasing two episodes per volume for a 12 episode series, Momo Kyun Sword will instead release four episodes per volume at the cost of 9000 yen per. This is a fairly substantial discount from the usual way of going two episodes for 6000+ yen.
The good news for us is that we’ll get four BD episodes immediately. The bad news for Project no.9 is that these kind of sales tactics simply have no effect, and it will actually cost them money. Just like it did for ARMS recently with Gokukoku no Brynhildr .
Knights of Sidonia vol.06
I shouldn’t rip this anime. People have said good things about the story, and any mainstream-ish anime that shows they are fine with nudity is cool in my book. The CG may be hideous, but the market has spoken, and this series has been a surprising financial success.
Enough so that a second season will air its pilot episode next month.
October 29th
Kenzen Robo Daimidaler vol.04
After a clunker of a disc bonus in volume one, volumes two and three have gotten things back on the right track. Hopefully this latest volume will make three good ones in a row.
Blade and Soul vol.05
Decent chance we might see nipples in this one during Jin Varel’s resurrection scene.
Shirogane no Ishi Argevollen vol.01
This is volume is very unlikely to have nudity, but might be worth looking into on the chance they have some sort of added scenes or extras of interest. The next volume after this will have the big censored group shower scene to look forward to.
