Ecchi blu-ray release dates for September 2015

The Summer season is finally arriving on BD!

This is a nice month for BD releases, even if Knights of Sidonia and High School DxD were pushed back to October unexpectedly.  Bikini Warriors will release all the episodes in one volume in December.

Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou vol.01 (September 16th)

 

We already know what this show looks like uncensored.  I am holding out faint hope that the BD release fixes some minor mistakes like partially cropping out nipples off-screen in many cases.

My assumption is that BDs won’t come with any specials, other than maybe the web shorts.  There is a chance that some of those web shorts could add nudity on BD though.

 

Grisaia no Rakuen vol.02 (September 18th)

 

The shot above is the only one with nudity potential in this volume.  Rakuen put a much higher emphasis on story than service than its predecessor did.

To compensate, they’ve so far taken the specials to Ikkitousen type levels.  The special this time around will focus on Milliela.

 

Okusama ga Seito Kaichou! vol.02 (September 25th)

 

Changes on BD are not expected for this series since it aired uncensored, and I wouldn’t expect fast rips either.  The first half of the series was released last month (August 21st) and posted very low sales as expected.

This installment covers the second half of the series.  As far as I know, no specials are included.

 

Triage X vol.04 (September 25th)

 

There should be a decent amount of brief nudity in both episodes (7 & 8) as Sayo goes on her naked rampage.

Sadly, this series has yet to receive BD rip attention on the interwebs, and even nylon66 stopped bothering with his screen cap reviews after volume two.

One possible explanation for the delay is that this series has had one of the higher initial retail prices (8200 yen per BD), and it’s currently one of the most expensive ecchi BDs you can buy at CDJapan.

Amazon has reacted wisely to the series’ slumping sales and discounted prices to a more reasonable level.  But my hunch is that raw providers are probably waiting for a discounted Box Set.  Something very similar to this inexplicably happened to Samurai Bride a couple years ago.  It happens sometimes.

 

To Love-Ru Darkness 2nd vol.01 (September 26th)

 

As much as we all adore Monster Musume, there’s something to be said for having nipples on the screen for more than a second or two at a time.  It seems likely that Darkness 2nd will end up with the most nude screen time of any ecchi series this year, with only Testament really being in the conversation.

There is much to look forward to in this volume, particularly Rito’s adventures as a hamster.

 

Prison School vol.01 (September 30th)

 

Like Monster Musume, we’ve seen this uncensored already and I’m not expecting changes, other than encoding quality of course.

 

Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai vol.02 (September 30th)

 

Volume one came out late last month (2.1k total discs sold), and I didn’t bother mentioning it because I didn’t think there was much chance of this series having nudity.

Well, after a recent episode revealed a pair of very minor nipple sightings on the AT-X broadcast, expectations will have to be revisited.

Granted, Anna’s big topless scene was nipple free on AT-X and nipple free in the manga adaptation.  But it’s worth holding out hope now that we know that JC Staff isn’t afraid of taking liberties.  Especially since one of those added nipples belonged to Anna herself.
