Gate S2 has great girls. Really cute ones too. Even if some are beast girls. But where, oh where, did the fanservice go???

Once again, if you want nudity, the manga is your best option. You can check out Wizard’s most excellent Gate – Jietai Kare no Chi nite, Kaku Tatakeri manga fanservice compilation.

Anime
We’re baaack with fanservice reviews for Gate S2. Better late than never. Sorry about that but Gate reviews got delayed by low fanservice levels (after episode 13) and higher priority shows such as Galko-chan, Grimgar and Konosuba.
Episode 14
Princess Pina looks cute in her nightwear. Even if too tame. And her maids look good in togas too.
Japanese woman kidnapped but the evil prince. This is toned down from the manga IIRC.
And boy, can she beat the living crap out of evil princes…
Episode 15
And just a tiny bit of Tuka boob bounce…
Rory getting pissed off is always fun. Whatever you do, don’t piss off Rory…
Episode 16
How in the heck did we wind up not seeing the panties of the bunny girl??? She’s a cutie though. But a vicious warrior bunny too…
How can a skinny birdgirl have such big boobs??? Talk about boobs on a stick…
Episode 17
It was great seeing both Lelei and Tuka getting really angry. They both look great when angry. Go figure…
And a bloody Rory is a sexy Rory. Go figure…
Her name is Giselle. A dragon girl. Who serves a yuri goddess. And may be yuri herself. But a one-shot character. Too bad…

Overall
The bad news is a number of Gate BDs from have been released so far but none have had any nudity. Unfortunately, I called it in my earlier reviews. It’s A-1 Pictures after all. Not impossible, just improbable and only in small amounts (Magi and Vividred Operation).
So what happened to the fanservice in Gate S2? Long story short is that Gate has gone mainstream on us. And it seems to be successful as a mainstream anime so don’t expect them to feel any pressure to add nudity in the future. But you never know. The odds are not zero with A-1 Pictures.
Still I’m very much enjoying watching Gate again. It’s still a very good show with a very good set of anime girls and I’m still partial to military SF. I’m glad Gate is back for a second season. Stayed tuned…
