Gokukoku no Brynhildr fanservice review episode 01

Gokukoku-no-Brynhildr-01

The manga teases but has yet to deliver a nipple, but whenever ARMS animates a project nudity is usually in the forecast.

The first episode shows zero nudity potential, just a very small amount of mizugi service.  Honestly, it’s nothing worth discussing, but I figured I’d cover the first episode anyway on the chance that this show ends up being worth following on a weekly basis later.  There isn’t much, but you can see a detailed image breakdown at Sankaku Complex.

I’m guessing that eventually we’ll get some service scenes with the classic Adam and Eve styled hair censorship, and then it will be a question of whether ARMS has it in them to do redraws on BD, something they have avoided in the past (though Wizard Barristers will probably change that).

As far as the anime itself, it actually looks pretty decent.  The character designs and production values are above average in a era of anime where most projects operate on shoe-string budgets.  The story from the manga is quite intense and violent and we’ve already seen a small hint of that in the very first episode.  The best TV anime ARMS has ever produced was Elfen Lied, and there are some surface level similarities between these two projects so there is reason to be hopeful for its success.

Hopefully, Gokukoku no Brynhildr can prove to be both a good anime and one that provides great service, though I’d settle for just the latter.
