A sign of things to come

This entire beginning scene has black bars which makes stitches more difficult to do than normal.
This opening scene covers Michio’s discovery of skills and how to acquire and apply them. Directly following is a discussion on blacksmith’s, as applying skills to equipment is their domain. Michio does express a desire to add a blacksmith to his party, the first hint that a new slave member is coming.
Michio uses teleportation magic to arrive at the first floor of the labyrinth, to Roxanne’s surprise.
Michio learns of Magic Crystals and their importance. Roxanne is able to locate monsters because of her race- her nose is able to sniff them out.
Little else to mention aside from Michio enjoying the view of Roxanne’s ass.
Michio and Roxanne have a bit of a heart to heart. Roxanne reveals her fear of being sold should Michio return to his homeland, but Michio reassures her and plans to keep her forever. Michio accepts his situation and realizes that even if he wanted to return to Japan, he probably couldn’t.
Michio buys some Magic Crystals which stores the magic power of monsters after killing them.
We get some information on the nature of labyrinths during this excursion. They are thought to be alive, luring people inside, killing them with monsters, and feeding on their bodies. Michio wonders if he can become a mage, and decides to cast some spells. This fails, and he assumes it’s because he lacks the MP.
Michio’s Crystallization Upgrade skill comes in handy, as it vastly decreases the number of killed monsters needed to upgrade his crystal. Also, Michio grows interested in healing, to which Roxanne mentions healing is available to Monks and Priests. Michio decides that he and Roxanne will fight with their bare hands, as that is what allows them to become one.
This is a long sequence in which Michio concocts a plan to kill a monster with his bare hands. This was difficult to do using Durandal because it’s so powerful, so he reduces his strength until he can’t one-shot a monster, then unequips Durandal and re-maxes his strength so he can kill the monster with his fists. This allows him to use a minor heal via the monk skills he just acquired.
Michio and Roxanne have another talk, with Roxanne affirming her faith in Michio and her stating that she’s impressed by his strength. What is likely more interesting to all of you is the bathing that follows.
There was too much movement to do a stitch of Roxanne. It would have made this comparison look better for sure- what a shame.
And what will likely be the biggest disappointment to most people, the sex scene was essentially cut and given a fade to black. The above 3 pages is how it goes in the manga, with Roxanne cleaning Michio’s dick afterward, or perhaps jerking him off.
This is the end of episode 05 and the end of Chapter 16. The cut sex scene is likely to due limited budget. For those seeking such scenes, you will likely be disappointed with the remainder of this anime. I predicted last review that the remaining sex scenes won’t be as intense, but I didn’t think they’d limit them like they did in this episode. Bath time shenanigans, which will be a few weeks from now, will probably be the last remaining highlight for you all. There is a chance that the OVA that’s bundled with the Blu-Rays could deliver greatness as well, but we’ll have to wait until December to get those. Next episode will be similarly limited in ecchi scope, with only a brief scene of Roxanne waking up naked and kissing Michio. As I’ve said a number of times, this is something you’ll either need to get used to, or walk away.
You could take a third option though, and grab whatever you will from this review series and move on.
