To me, there wasn’t a ton of doubt that this amazing manga would get an anime some day, but damn, it feels so nice seeing this news.

All we know is that Prison School getting an anime. An anime! It could be a full series, or it could be a single OVA.
Given the huge popularity of the manga and the fact that it has even won critical acclaim and awards, I would be surprised if this series received less than a 1-cour TV series. It also wouldn’t surprise me at all if this anime was handled by a semi-prestigious company as there is so much more to this manga on so many different levels than you typically see in the ecchi genre.
Obviously, it would be awesome if a “trusted” ecchi company like Xebec, TNK, or ARMS handled this project. But personally, I think this gritty style of this ecchi series might be best in the hands of a company like asread, Gonzo, or even Madhouse.
I also kind of have a hard time seeing this anime as a single OVA as there is so much exposition at the start, you couldn’t really do this anime justice with a single episode at all.
But even if a one episode OVA was all we got, this is the most I’ve looked forward to an ecchi manga adaptation in ages. Whichever company does end up producing this anime will have to live up to some very high expectations.
