Knights of Sidonia returns with a bang as many story and plot developments come at you at a swift pace. I realize that the service in this show can be….not to everyone’s tastes but the world doesn’t move to the beat of one drum so here we are.
Episode 1
Nothing really of note. Knights of Sidonia is hugely a story defined show and has its service as extra baggage more than anything.
Nice boob jiggling here but I’m too lazy to make a .gif out of it.
Episode 3
We going old-school with Nagate walking in on changing ladies…again. It’s as if Rito replaces Nagate at certain points of the show.
WebM of the scene:
I gotta admit, this scene got a chuckle out of me, it was quite funny.
Episode 5
It seems as that the odd episode numbers have the majority of the fanservice in them rather than the even numbers, whether this is done on purpose or not is up for you to decide.
Dream sequence with some possible screen-cropping.
I’m not holding out on a limb here really, I only imagine Sidonia would only go back to add nipples or clear smoke to shots like the first and third one. I don’t think it is possible that they would go as far as screen-cropping to censor boobs here.
Finally, bath-time.
Episode 6
NagaRito makes another appearance this episode. I’m glad he’s back, I missed him.
Ah yes, its a classic isn’t it? The good old “Tumble over and hand falls on breast ‘accident’ “. Now it’s just gonna end with Izana slapping Nagate or-
OH DEAR GOD WHAT IS THAT NO NO NO!
Uhh, following this…:
Knights of Sidonia delivered full nudity in season 1 so this season is a solid bet for the same as well. There have been opportunities for full frontal to be added with a few off chances where screen-cropping could be…uncropped I guess, but that is a great stretch though. Episode 7 promises a lot as the preview teases and a few tweets and screencaps I saw and a comment from
As I said before, Sidonia offers a very unique taste for fanservice, being that it is 3DCG animation. Personally, I don’t mind it. I think its a shame that lots of people are thrown off by the animation style as the show itself is really well written and can be very, very entertaining. The battles are extremely well choreographed and the simple day to day animation is very pleasant. Given the manga’s art style, 3DCG is probably for the best in my eyes. The space battles would have most likely been in CG anyway so they might as well go the extra mile with it.
That said, I know some people that simply can’t get over the art style and that’s fine. I’m just glad that we didn’t have another clusterfuck of complaints akin to Aku no Hana’s rotoscoping.
Also, glad to see that there is already fan art of my favourite scene.
