Don’t you hate it when you’re trapped on an island with a bunch of cute girls and have to deal with some deadly cult consisting of the island villagers?
Taro Kajiura and his friends from a research group at Tonan University embarked on a trip to Ikishima Island in order to pursue the origins about Princess Kannon. At the same time, the villagers of Ikishima were holding an annual festival in which outsiders were forbidden to participate in for over 400 years. The consequences for breaking that tradition were much more severe that any of them had imagined…
Also known as Evil Indecent Beings Inhabit This IslandĀ (funny name, I know), Kono Shima ni wa Midara de Jaaku na Mono ga Sumu can be rather brutal. Unfortunately while making this I had to deal with raws, so I wasn’t able to get to know the characters, let alone understand what was going on. All I can say is that if you are going read this, know that there is a fair amount of blood and some sexual abuse/assault, though that goes without saying when you know that this is a horror/psychological manga (according to Baka-Updates Manga).
The art isn’t spectacular but fanservice-wise it’s nice to look at. There isn’t anything like detailed backgrounds, or intricate character art but the T ‘n A are more than just satisfactory, so that’s a plus. There’s diversity in the female cast, so there’s a little bit for everyone. Hopefully you guys were able to find something to like (unless the brutality of the manga ruined things, which I can’t really blame you for if that’s the case). I’m probably making this manga sound like a hardcore psychological horror, but there are way worse manga/anime out there. My main point is that this isn’t some light-hearted ecchi, so just be warned.
