Crashed and burned!
After enjoying last episode’s zenith of ecchi, we crashed and burned this week, just like Darkness as depicted in the featured image. Sad to say that fanservice was scarce this week.
Anyway, remember the magic circle that Aqua had drawn in the dungeon to purify the priest so that he could reunite with his wife? Little did Kazuma and gang know that it would cause them problems in the future! Due to the effects of the magic circle, strange explosive mini monsters have started to appear, endangering the townsfolk. After some amusing discussion, it was decided that only Kazuma and Darkness would head into the dungeon to investigate.
They soon encounter an archmagician, Vanir, who has the ability to read minds. He turns out to be the mastermind and after apparently being defeated following a fortuitous assault, he attaches his mask onto Darkness and possesses her body. He soon learns of Darkness’s masochistic nature and decides to use her body to exact vengeance on Aqua.
In order to destroy Vanir, Darkness requests that Megumin cast her explosion magic on her. Later, Darkness faces an ignominious situation in which everyone learns of and calls her by her family name Lalatina. Meanwhile, Kazuma and gang have their debt cleared and were rewarded handsomely for their efforts in defeating Vanir.

With the gang’s misfortune with the capital finally done and dusted, I wonder what lies in store for us in the next episode, i.e. the beginning of the second half of this season (assuming another 10 episodes this season). Will Yunyun finally join the group? Will Kazuma steal Luna’s panties? Will To Love Ru style accidents happen? Will there be nudity? The list of questions goes on and on…
