I don’t mind even if it’s padded!
Well, that certainly was the quote of the episode. Once again, fanservice was little to none this week but our beloved Eris returns!
Kazuma and gang pay Wiz a visit and were astounded by the fact that Vanir had survived Megumin’s explosion due to him having an extra life. However, he has since quit his position as a commander of the Devil King’s army and is now working at Wiz’s shop. Kazuma then acquires a sword before taking on a quest to eliminate a group of Lizard Runners.
As unforeseen circumstances eviscerate his meticulous plans, Kazuma once again dies and finds himself having an audience with Eris. They soon start a conversation and Kazuma came to a realization that Eris is the embodiment of his ideal heroine. Kazuma then contemplates being reborn as a baby until Aqua, Megumin and Darkness take drastic measures to force him to return to where he belongs.

In my opinion, it was an all round great episode. We got to see a great mix of hilarious actions and dialogues between the characters that Konosuba pulls off ever so wonderfully. And let’s not forget that funny ‘pause’ screen when Aqua went on her rant. It just makes you forget the fact that this episode was devoid of fanservice that we crave week in, week out.
I’ll leave you with a little something to think about till the next episode comes out. Have you all thought about the conversation between Kazuma and Aqua in the presence of Eris, when Aqua was trying to divulge Eris’s secret? Some food for thought about Eris’s true identity. Till next week!
