Momo Kyun Sword - 12 (16)

Plenty of service and one final tease for Momo Kyun Sword in the series finale.

You can’t put a percentage on it, but I think it can be safely said that if this series goes for nudity on blu-ray it would be considered a surprise to most.  There’s the obvious misleading censorship history of Project No.9, and then there’s the kind of awkward way that nudity would clash in a cutesy anime like this. It was still nice to see them sneak in a potential BD highlight at the end of this episode though.

Momo Kyun Sword  wasn’t a good anime, but it did have its charms.  I’m not going to argue that Project No.9 makes great anime, but I will give them props for finding a way of making ecchi anime feel refreshing and normative (relative to hardcore ecchi series).  That said, it would be nice to see this company go for nudity one of these days, especially with the kind of art and character design skill they have displayed, particularly here with Momo Kyun Sword .   (Maybe if their non-nude series keep bombing, they might eventually shrug their shoulders and give it a try.)

Nudity potential aside, this was probably the best ecchi series of the season.  Of course, it helps that Summer 2014 was the weakest season for ecchi in five years.  Hopefully the Fall 2014 season steps up, because you’d hate to see a slump turn into a trend.
