Nobunaga The Fool not fooling around in episode 19

Suddenly and without warning, an extreme bondage nude scene occurs near the end of the most recent episode of Nobunaga The Fool.  The censorship is fully opaque (I checked), even on the ass shots.

There is also a very brief blank boob shot a couple of minutes later where a nipple could be added should they desire it.

Past history tells us this scene could go either way on blu-ray.  

Majestic Prince had some surprising censored nudity during a shower scene late in the show, but the steam remained on BD. Blood Lad had a scene where Yanagi’s massive tits where fully exposed with no cover except for white light, and when the BDs came the white light was removed to reveal… some of the biggest blank boobs you will ever see.

On the other hand, there are some examples of outlier nude scenes that show nipples on BD too.  Kotonoha shows the goods during an early episode of School Days, which would be the only nudity outside of the follow up OVA.  Before Sankarea surprised with all that creepy nudity in its OVA, it surprised us with some awesome nudity in episode two (which was faithful to the manga, good for them).  Read or Die TV had an incredibly shocking nude scene in episode nine, a massive outlier for a show that generally targeted girls.  Episode twelve of Kiddy Grade had an explosion of nipples during a very shocking scene.  It was the only nudity in the entire franchise- one which was built entirely on tease fanservice.

It’s worth noting that Nobanaga The Fool is already an R-rated anime for it’s high violence level and mature themes.  Nipples in a show like this would be consistent with the level of objectionable content already in the show.  It’s also a mecha anime, and mecha genre has a long history of being cool with showing nipples.

Maybe we get nudity here, maybe we won’t.  But even if we do and this is all we get, I think that’s pretty cool.  In recent years it seems nudity is mostly reserved for ecchi anime which is a shame.  I miss the old days where nudity was a way of giving anime more of an R-rated feel, and legitimizing it as being more than kids stuff.
