Seven years ago, Amakawa Yuuto‘s parents died leaving him behind to live alone without a single relative. Ever since then, his childhood friend, Kuzaki Rinko, has woken him up, cooked for him and generally taken care of him. The only family-related thing left to him is a mysterious charm, a red ball given to him by his grandparents as a good luck charm, an omamori.
From the day of his 16th birthday, his charm is said to not be able to protect him from evil spirits any more, and into Yuuto’s life walks Himari. A cat spirit-samurai girl and demon huntress who, aside from wanting to copulate with him madly, swears to protect Yuuto. Unfortunately, Yuuto has a severe allergic reaction to cats.

I’m finding a good amount of omake for a six-year old anime including anime posters and nude filters.
Thoughts
A fun anime to watch and to watch again. Not only is it ecchi with a fun and sexy group of demon and human girls, it’s better directed that you would expect for an ecchi anime. For example, there’s a good bit of foreshadowing. Viewers get to see most of the girls on screen before they get introduced to the audience.
Plus natural and realistic skirt physics are hard to beat. No magic skirts to yank ecchi viewers out of their immersion in the show…
As attractive as the character designs in the anime are, they are much better in the manga and art book. Matra Milan’s artwork is simply exceptional. You should check it out if you haven’t already. True story. I pre-ordered the first Graphic Novel based on the preliminary artwork alone. Then when I received it, there were panties on the front cover. In color. And the artwork inside was a good as advertised. I was hooked. I bought every GN as they became available and completed my collection by buying the art book. And I don’t buy much in the way of manga and art books. But Omamori Himari is an exception…
No nipples. Alas. But natural and amusing ecchi to go along with good visuals and good production values that should be checked out it you are an ecchi fan…
Notes
I used Reinforce 720p BD raws for my review. They didn’t have 1080p raws and BakaBT and various other websites have indicated that the Omamori Himari BDs are upscaled DVDs and there is no additional video quality for 1080p.
My stitches are a mix of old, fixed and new. Some breakage may have slipped through. But hopefully not. Omamori Himari was one of the first shows I made stitches for as I learned how to make stitches. But to be honest, a lot of the potential stitches were too technically challenging for a newbie. And now I can make a lot of stitches that I wasn’t able to back then.
