Continuation
Another good double shot. There’s some decent frames and webm worthy material in both episodes, which is always a good sign for a series. This gives me hope that the remainder of the episodes will have something to look forward to.
Episode 05:
Mahiro makes the bold decision to leave the house, but only because some otaku merch was being released, and those featuring popular characters would sell out fast. Mahiro’s day out went well, until a junior officer assumed a person their age out and about early in the morning was a truant.
Later in the episode, Mihari notes that Mahiro’s hair has split ends and needs maintenance. This requires another trip into the outside world, but this time Mahiro gets some comfort via tits-in-the-face courtesy of an attractive young barber.
Mahiro is eventually convinced to go to a halloween party held at Kaede’s house. Having heard it was a costume party, Mahiro realizes that it was a trick seeing how everyone else is wearing normal clothes. Mahiro’s true reason for coming to the party is revealed as well – it was anticipation of potentially seeing Kaede in a sexy Halloween outfit.
This was the aforementioned Kaede outfit. Obviously, another massive (and welcome) buff.
Throughout this broadcast, I would occasionally see Kaede gif’s shortly after the most recent episode was aired. You’d be forgiven in assuming that with all the Kaede gif’s seen up to this point that the manga was just the same. Now that I’m taking a look at the manga, it’s remarkable how much they upgrade certain scenes for the anime – this might just be the most blatant improvement yet.
Episode 06:
Mahiro agrees to begin attending middle school, for some god forsaken reason. That Mihari is somehow able to accommodate this isn’t really explained, but neither was her ability to transform her brother either, so the story doesn’t (yet) seem to mind these sort of handwaves.
Unless I missed something, I believe this bath scene is anime original, as is the following “dress up” scene.
Another change – Mahiro is wearing a normal shirt under the blouse, rather than just a bra. This is neither the only, nor the best change in this episode.
Another set of noticeable changes. It seems that as this point, the animators will expand and improve every scene from the manga that could even be considered slightly erotic. I feel like crawling twitter to see how the mangaka feels about this; the tone of the manga to this point doesn’t seem to fit what these anime scenes are doing (not a complaint, just curious)
Something I was curious about on the onset of this situation was what Mihari was thinking getting Mahiro to go to school again, as even Mahiro realizes how a male of his age in the presence of undressing middle schoolers comes across. Rewrite things a bit differently and you could turn this into a hentai.
I should mention here that this episode was a bit of a leap comparing the progression of the manga. Episode 5 covered chapter’s 14, 15, and 16. Episode 6 skips right to 21 and 22. Notably, 17 and 18 are very blatant, service heavy onsen chapters. Had I been covering this weekly, I’d have assumed they were saving this for later in the broadcast. I haven’t checked ahead yet, but I’m pretty sure this is what’s going to happen. That episode could very well be the “best” in terms of service. But, we’ll have to see when we get there.
