The prospect of a second season seems more likely after a post-series OVA transitions the story into its next major arc.

Back when episode 12 aired, I noticed that they cut short the scene at the end where the girls have to strip and change before entering prison. This results in some humiliating nudity for the characters in the manga, a moment that was skipped over in the TV anime. At the time, I wondered if they might add it on blu-ray (which they didn’t) or if they just considered it too “violent” or “forceful” for JC Staff’s tastes.
It turns out, they were just saving it for the intro of their Prison School OVA. Nice.
I was hoping JC Staff might go anime original with this OVA to give them an excuse for more nudity and service, but I’m glad they stuck with the source, since it helps them set up for a second season. If a second season did happen, the chapters it would cover in the manga are significantly more salacious than those covered in season one.
I think it’s pretty likely we’ll get a sequel. The show was a financial and critical success. Fingers crossed.
