RPG Fudousan Episodes 6, 7, 8, & 9 Fanservice Review

Bathservice, teasing, and more oddities.

RPG Fudousan returns triumphantly, but first we must get through some rather service barren episodes.

Episode 06:

We get some good looks at a new bard girl that Fudousan helps: unfortunately that makes it worse because she deserves much better than what she (and we) got. Can’t win them all though.

I couldn’t quite get a good stitch of the bard here. It’s a shame we didn’t get more good shots of her. In fact, I don’t think we got a single look of her not clutching the harp to her chest.

Not sure I would call this a nerf- the panties, bra, and boots seem generally simplified in the anime (probably to save time and money), and the bra itself has some kind of bizarre design that they probably just didn’t want to bother adapting. Interestingly, the anime made the sword absolutely massive in comparison to the manga, and it now somewhat resembles the Buster Sword in shape.

Overall this was a standard episode: first half is about getting humans and monsters to cooperate via Fa’s ability to speak with both, and our second half is helping bard girl find an appropriate home.

Episode 07:

A very service barren episode. We do get the first look at Kotone’s extended family, featuring her two sisters. It seems Kotone was given most of the food in the household. If you combine all 4 of her two sister’s breasts, they probably would still have less total mass than even one of Kotone’s. If you’d like to learn a bit more about Kotone’s family dynamic, watch this one just for the story.

Episode 08:

Things start to heat up here with some fairly decent shots.

As Fa begins to peel off her clothes, the manga makes it seem as if she doesn’t even wear a bra underneath. The anime makes it clear that she does, but it goes a step further as she halfway undresses.

It feels like they made the panties a bit more detailed in the anime. Another welcome victory for us all. The faithful adaptation of this shot makes a later comparison very bizarre though, just look out below for the next manga page featuring Rakira.

2/2 this episode for adapted panty shots. You’d think this would mean that every panty shot would be adapted, right?

Of all the service comparisons I’ve made to this point, this one is the most bizarre. I’m beginning to grow very suspicious that the creator or someone high ranking in the production staff is “protecting” Rakira for some reason. While she has had her moments of service, no one else has had nearly as many nerfs. Just earlier in the episode we had a loli with a shameless panty shot, and another panty shot with the bandage girl, but for some reason Rakira has hers concealed? I can’t think of any other reason as to why they continue to do this with Rakira. They did keep the wet t-shirt, but it’s not as detailed as the manga. If you remember per this series review, Kotone also had a panty shot taken away in episode 5, but that’s because the entire scene was removed from the episode, which led me to believe they may add it in later.

The bandage girl in this episode turns out to be a “superstar” who grew too popular and needed to find a new home. She’s also mentioned to be 13. If you saved the panty shot, don’t forget to delete it, and if you don’t, it will be reported to your local authorities! Upon which nothing will happen of course, so save away and enjoy. The second half of the episode features a fortune teller that isn’t wearing much, but doesn’t get any amazing shots herself. She attempts to look into Fa’s future towards the end of the episode, but is unable. She also gives Kotone a “good luck charm,” which looks something like an orange crystal. We will see it in the next episode.

Episode 09:

Probably the second most fanservice packed episode in this series. It begins with Fudousan visiting a new property in hopes of achieving some kind of monthly (possibly quarterly) sales goal. This serves as a method for the owners to experiment with a new business model, which thankfully requires the girls to strip and enjoy a trip at a spa.

The girls exit the spa to get dressed and find their clothes have been removed. They are given some underwear for the rest of the visit though.

The shot of Kotone nervously looking around with a handbra would have been a nice addition to the anime. I don’t think I’d call this a desire to remove service more than a plan to save on animation costs. Because again, you can’t win them all. If you check the actual chapter, there are many panels that don’t quite make it into this episode, which is very unfortunate.

Unfortunately for any piss fetishists out there, this is only a powder. I guess you could use your imagination though.

As mentioned earlier, this was an experiment by the owners for a new business model, which works out swimmingly after some feedback from Kotone and Rakira in particular. This works out too well unfortunately, as the owners no longer seek to make their property available for rent. Fudousan is handed a few free hot spring passes though, the result of which we see above, likely the final shot of any of these girls in the buff. Savor it.

The second half deals with a festival, and while not as interesting (for the purposes of this website) as the above spa section, it still has some moments.

Our green haired loli gets a bit handsy with Rufuria. Fa has had some similar moments with Kotone- it’s an easy vehicle for service, and I’m surprised we haven’t got more of it.

A bit of a nerf here, but again I’d say it was done because it’s just easier to make it that way- to exclude the underboob and make the straps bigger.

The green hairs above turn out to be literal gods, much to the shock of Fudousan. They are not supposed to visit the mortal world though, so they must leave as soon as they arrive. In exchange for taking care of her daughter while she was at the festival though, the wishes they made during the festival are granted, though they were quite trivial.

Episode 9 and the beach episode are the (service) standouts of the series. While this series never demonstrated stellar animation, you can really begin to see the quality of animation decline, probably due to budget and time constraints. Even with the publication of this review I am still two episodes behind. I will try to post a final “catch up” post on the weekend, and will also try to have next week’s episode published within a reasonable timeframe. It remains to be seen if any further, major service will be provided, but I doubt it. Do remember though, that this is a series where minor service is more of a sideshow, rather than the main attraction. The girls are at least cute enough to pay some attention to at least, and we will do so again, next time.
