[Next up in this series of fanservice previews for next season is Seisen Cerberus. It also might be the last unless more PVs with ecchi in them show up…]
The full name of this TV anime is “Seisen Cerberus: Ryūkoku no Fatalite” but we will use Seisen Cerberus as the short name for this review.
Plot summary from ANN:
On a continent ruled by sword and magic called Kunaaan, there are three kingdoms with a fragile power balance that could spell disaster and war at any moment. Another power, the evil dragon Daganzord, also resides on the continent, and no one is powerful enough to stop him from spreading destruction and charred land in his wake. Bairo and Kismitete, and a party of wizards attempted to seal the dragon, but were foiled. This event was known thereafter as the Balbagoa Tragedy. Bairo and Kismitete’s son Hiiro is saved by Giiru, and Hiiro swears to avenge his parents’ deaths and trains himself with the sword. When Hiiro turns 16, he sets out on a journey to slay the dragon, and Giruu accompanies him, having no choice. Along the way, they meet many types of people, and gain companions on their journey.
Sure doesn’t sound like a series that would have much ecchi or sex appeal. But the promo videos may tell a slightly different story. At least at first…
Also it seems to be based on a mobile game. And there seems to be a manga.

PV1 sort of came out of nowhere. A little bondage, a little cleavage, a little skin and a little fox girl… That’s one way to grab some attention from ecchi and moe fans…

Thoughts
The manga appears to be shounen and was published in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine which publishes stuff like Attack on Titan so that makes me think the anime might be going for a more serious rather then ecchi tone.
The studio doing the anime is Bridges whom I had never heard of before. Looking at what they have done probably explains why I never heard of them. And their track record doesn’t seem to bode well for ecchi in this show.
The directer, Nobuhiro KONDO, mainly looks to have done action stuff. Interesting enough he has done hentai before apparently according to MAL. Oni-tensei which is an old hentai was directed by him. But that was nearly 16 years ago and probably not reflective of his current work. But that might help explain the sex appeal in the PVs and bode well for future ecchi. We just don’t know. His recent track record is not encouraging…
Seems he was the director of the Valkyria Chronicles OVAas well and which was a joint effort between A-1 pictures and Bridge. That was based on a video game much like Seisen Cerberus is based on a mobile card game. So it does seem like this anime is going to be a more serious thing. Really doesn’t seem the type of anime may that wll have nudity in it. Maybe a little ecchi as per the PVs but the odds of nudity seem very low.
Unexpectedly cute girls with unexpected bits of fanservice. But each PV was tamer than the one before. And overall the show seems rather dark and serious and more for Type A viewers than Type B viewers. Hate to say it, but the PVs look and feel like bait-and-switch aka as sex-sells more than anything else. But the girls look rather cute and interesting. Just hard to believe that they will get a lot of screen time though nor will we get much in the way of ecchi and nudity. Such a shame but it would be nice to be wrong…

This blog post was meant to be a quick preview of an anime show next season by looking at the PVs and CMs so far. Including all stitches and snapshots which were done for speed. Some frames might have been missed. But more thorough stitches and snapshots will wait for TV fanservice reviews next season. Also, the video quality of PVs is not all that great to start with…
