Shin Ikkitousen Fanservice Review Episode 01

A welcome sight amidst a non-nude season.

Given the lack of new posts, which is largely my own fault, and which hopefully will be remedied come summer season, I have decided to grab Ikki Tousen. Unfortunately I have never watched a single episode of this series until now, so my knowledge of the characters and setting will be very lacking. I can tell even from this one episode that there’s quite a bit that I’m missing. Hopefully by the end of these three episodes I’ll have done this series some justice.

The story begins with our main pigtail (named Chuubou) entering the grounds of Nanyo Academy with some grand aspirations, mentioning the record of 29 straight victories by a “Saku-chan” and her desire to surpass it.

Chuubou seems to be in over her head however. She is quickly approached by a man that looks like he could be a star in an NTR doujin, who expresses disappointment that she hasn’t yet inherited a sacred bead. These beads were mentioned in the intro as containing the souls of the warriors from the Three Kingdoms era in China, and when worn are able to draw out the power of its inheritor.

I don’t like mentioning myself and my opinions in my reviews, but I will say that I wasn’t too thrilled with the above shot of Chuubou pissing herself. I understand that it probably arouses at least some of you though, so I included it. If it does not, do your best to ignore it as I have. If it is, the puddle gets larger, if you’d like to check out the full episode and see it for yourself.

Exactly 40 seconds later we have another shot of a girl pissing herself. I have a feeling this is the fetish of someone on the production staff.

We’re introduced to our green haired bandage girl in the next scene, Roshuku. She talks with Chuubou about a few things before being interrupted by the arrival of a new girl we will see below.

Ukitsu is the name of our new arrival, and she gives Chuubou a bead. Chuubou is reluctant to put it on though, given her embarrassing display earlier, but is quickly convinced otherwise.

The story advances quite rapidly at this point. Roshuku takes a sword of some importance from a locker, one of five passed down from the Three Kingdoms era. She also claims its resonance has grown stronger, mentioning also that “they” have come. Roshuku explains that another of these swords was stolen from a different school, meaning that their own Nanyo Academy is in danger as well.

We get a cut away at this point to our dark skinned dual wielding white hair (named Yamada) who appears and turns the episode into a slasher horror film, attacking both Roshuku and Nanyo Academy for an as of yet unknown reason.

Ukitsu tells Chuubou to take the sword and run as far as she can, as Ukitsu waits and prepares to confront whoever is invading. Eventually, our blonde loli (named Indara) arrives with a group of henchmen and demands to know the location of the sword.

Yamada pursues Chuubou to the rooftop, but is stalled long enough for Chuubou to receive reinforcements, the above white haired sword girl whose name is Chou’un.

Chuubou is under the impression that Chou’un is currently their strongest fighter. Chou’un denies this as we cut away to a dark skinned sword girl cutting up some bamboo, (Kan’u) the implication here is that Kan’u is the strongest, but is not currently present.

We have some extended fight scenes upcoming, but not before some subdued action involving Yamada and Chou’un, and a brief cutaway with Ukitsu. This scene gives us a small preview, but neither of the girl’s powers is fully explained. Yamada seemingly has poisoned Chou’un but is shocked to see Chou’un still standing, implying that is had some ability to incapacitate people. Yamada turns away declaring she will return for the sword when she is able to fight Chou’un at her full strength.

Our blonde loli Indara is not as merciful (or sporting) and has her henchmen attack Chou’un. Ukitsu is also brought before Chuubou. Overwhelmed by the scene playing out in front of her, Chuubou offers the sword to Indara, but is chided because Chuubou is revealed to be part of her objective as well.

Some very subtle and easy to miss jiggle in the above gif. Look closely.

Ukitsu reveals she was simply playing dead before leaping into action to save Chuubou. Ukitsu implores Chuubou to escape with her, and is about to reveal some critical information, but she is killed by Indara who impales her with the sword she took from Chuubou. This completely enrages Chuubou, who is about to change dramatically. This is good for us as her clothes are about to come off as well.

Well worth the wait. Indara does us all a favor and attacks Chuubou with playing cards that are fitted with sharp, metallic edges. Believing Chuubou to be mortally wounded, she has instead only managed to shred her clothes, revealing a fantastic body and breasts that seem to have grown after her transformation.

I was having trouble with this stitch and asked for some feedback. This resulted in another of the site’s writers, ScissorMeTimbers, trying his hand which produced a second stitch (the bottom). Whichever one you like better go ahead and take, or both.

Our story now has understandably taken a back seat to the action, which also serves to demonstrate Chuubou’s new and highly aggressive and chiding personality, mocking both Indara and her own ally Chou’un.

Yamada returns to the fight and battles with Chuubou, but is easily overwhelmed by Chuubou. Perhaps she had some hidden power that she could have revealed that would help her even the odds, but the story does not provide the opportunity as Chuubou is shortly after restrained.

Our loli green hair pigtail arrives to restrain Chuubou. During this scene we have quite a bit of dialogue hinting at the nature of what Chuubou has become and future events that are likely to soon happen.

Chuubou reverts to her original state and gives us her best face down ass up pose. Indara takes this opportunity to attempt to kill her, but is stopped by our new girl, Sonsaku, who arrives just in time to deliver a devastating punch, and happily exclaims that she’s back.

That is it for this episode. I’m unsure of the scope of what these three episodes will entail, but this episode escalated very quickly and introduced many characters and only loosely introduced a plot. As I said before I’m sure there’s quite a bit I’m missing having not watched any of the original series, so I’m sure for those who have everything makes sense. I am reduced to simply recapping the events of the episode because of this, so for the few who actually care about the writing, I can only apologize for things being even more dry than usual.

The second episode has been out for a few days now, but I don’t know when I’ll get to it. But you can bet I’ll be here to finish the rest of the series, as this was at least a fun and interesting episode. Of course, the amount of nudity was also the main selling point, as I’m sure it is for most of you as well. Until next time.
