Continuing on with a series of art books that just happened to catch my eye. (Maybe because I was working on Omamori Himari media at that time. And that anime has animal girls [technically demon girls] a plenty but does not have nipples although the manga does.) Click on the TORANOANA Girls Collection link at the top of the page to see the previous TORANOANA Girls Collection artbook compilations.
Starting in 2017, it seems the TORANANA Girls Collections art books were combined from TYPE-A, TYPE-B and TYPE-X to TYPE-XA and TYPE-XB. I’ve been curious since then as to what the different types are. But never mind… Starting in 2018, it seems that TYPE-XA and TYPE-XB have been combined to simply TYPE-X. And TYPE-A and TYPE-B have been combined and omitted from the title. Thus this time, we have 2018 WINTER and 2018 WINTER TYPE-X.
Less art books overall but a whole lot more images. To the tune of 114 images this time. With more girls and body types. Hard to complain…
Thanks to the intrepid soul that created recent yande.re pool, we now know the answer to part of the question. The X stands for uncensored versions of existing censored images in the corresponding non-TYPE-X artbook. Check out the before and after example images below.

It would be fun to show before-and-after images for all uncensored images in this artbook. But unfortunately, that would be really hard on page load times with 228 VHR (Very High Resolution) images even if they are jpg since yande.re only accepts high-quality images. TORANOANA Girls Collection 2018 WINTER TYPE-X is part of a series of biannual doujinshi art books. TORANOANA is a doujin shop and this seems to be a collaboration with doujin artists to help both the doujin artists and the doujin shop gain popularity thus increasing sales. The TYPE-X editions are doujinshi art books for adults only that are sold at Comic Market. Animal girls seem to be the focus of a lot of the artwork. And some of the artwork looks really nice! With animal ears!! And nipples!!!
