A nearly nude Sayo goes berserk against her own Black Label comrades.
It turns out that Arashi’s backstory with Sayo was saved for episode eight instead of the previous episode. Quite a bit of this episode focused on character development and backstory.
I’m not blaming the anime, since it is simply following the manga verbatim, but this episode made the faulty assumption that anyone really cares all that much about any of the characters. Triage X is a thoroughly average manga with stylish art, good action, and awesome fanservice. The series is at its best when it plays to these strengths. And since Xebec isn’t as good at the action and art aspects… I kinda wish Xebec had maybe trimmed some of this stuff to give us an extra shower scene here and there. Just my two cents.
The fanservice here was decent. Plenty of cleavage and plenty of bare butt shots. The manga version is very careful to only show nipples a small number of times in this arc despite the fact that having Sayo doing acrobatics with nothing but a couple leather strips over her massive oppai isn’t exactly a recipe for modesty.
Hopefully the BD version slips in a few areola shots in this episode from time to time, as the manga version did:
Unfortunately, this episode only covered about half a volume. So we’re probably looking at this ten episode anime covering nine tankobon after all.
The next episode is going to focus on Konomi‘s abduction (and then her being subsequently being wet and naked for some reason).
Immediately after that arc ends, the manga goes into its longest and most epic onsen scene ever. It could honesty take up half an episode if Xebec wanted it to. Hopefully they have the good sense to wait until episode ten for this scene rather than having to give us an abridged version at the back end of episode nine.
