Summary:
Everyone is scared of Hiyori, the Spooky Scary Teacher. She’ll perform spooky rituals in private, she’ll walk into a room as she bleeds from her head, and if you ever bump into her, she’ll chant a curse on you. But the main character discovers that it’s all out of context, and that she’s just a Weak and Wimpy Teacher due to the clumsy and shy anxiety she goes through all day. During another clumsy incident in class, Abikura nominates himself Class President in a panic in order to save her, but later uses that opportunity to make the other students see her true self. Hiyori herself is also dedicated to being the best teacher while she involves herself in school activities to overcome her own insecurities, and to help her school win the upcoming jump rope event.
Review:
Yowayowa Sensei is a 20-minute show with worthy fan service, but not enough to fill an entire slot, with at least 2 episodes having none of it entirely. It’s mostly cute, but every notable character is a sight. Hiyori and Mukubayashi (pink hair) get the most scenes, while Akemi (his sister) and Kuguri (purple) get one moment each. The common settings for nude scenes are there: Beach episode and bathhouse, but others like Kuguri being the Photography Club president and is obsessed with taking photos of Hiyori with her embarrassed energy. Alongside this are Akemi’s ara-ara motives to spoil her little brother, and having him room with the teacher as much as possible. And finally, just Hiyori being her clumsy self, and is rarely concerned of her big nudity as long as she achieves something for the good of her career. For those who don’t care about the story, you’ll be left with little material. For purpose of this site, it’s totally quality over quantity in that regard. But if you enjoy the cuteness of squeaky teacher insecurities and/or a high school semi-romance without harem baggage, then this is for you.
