2.5 Dimensional Seduction Episode 03 Anime Fanservice Review

Finally some good food.

The pacing has picked up quite a bit. Again there is skipped content, but this time it comes from chapter 10 where there’s no service. The episode spends about 2/3 of its runtime delivering service scene after service scene.

It’s fair to assume that the anime adaptation will end around chapter 70. With the increased pace they’re either going to need to adapt the volume extras, or add about an episode’s worth of anime original content. Preferably they would do the bonus chapters since they are canon and tend to have a ton of service in them.

Episode starts with Mikari freaking out about wearing such a skimpy outfit.

Lilysa is unbothered by it because she’s horny on main.

Mikari initially wants to cosplay as Lilliel so tries to bully Lilysa into giving the role to her before deciding that Lilysa would be the better fit do to boob size. Most of the nude interaction happens off screen and the manga is also weird about this part as well.

Mikari dresses up as Miriella. Again some strong line work in this part and it overall looks good. We do get a nipple bump for Mikari here, but I think that’s as far as the adaptation is going to be willing to go. Scenes have been altered to show the character’s back instead of front with their tits out and a scene later seems to indicate it’s probably a no go. Unless, of course, they have a bunch of redrawn scenes for the blu-ray, but I wouldn’t count on that at all.

The manga does show this scene about how Miriella fell for Ashford but her love is unrequited. She wants Ashford to pay attention to her. These visuals are largely anime original. The pillarboxing seems to be an attempt to make it look like it is in 4:3 aspect ratio and the backgrounds are completely different from the show itself, probably an attempt to make this look like it is a cel-shaded anime from the 90s. The backgrounds in this fictional anime contrast to the backgrounds from the actual show. I guess the show’s backgrounds are meant to symbolize that reality is often disappointing.

Mikari re-enacts the iconic scene of Miriella. This shocks both Okumura and Lilysa who claim that she’s the real deal. All of them are not on the same page. Mikari laments that it was this easy to get Okumura to lay eyes on her.

Lilysa says they should take photographs of scenes from the manga. They cut the popsicle licking scene in the anime, but left it in…kinda? I mean the adaptation is already bizarre in that it crops booty shots but in this episode it’s okay to show them.

They decide on the mana transfer scene, which is probably a shitpost on the entire Fate franchise because it has a really awkward sex scene. A scene that is routinely mocked. Mikari plays the straight man here questioning why  anything in Ashford’s Chronicles works the way it does. Based on this scene it’s probably a no go for nipples. Okumura could be removed but the straps are still blocking the nipples.

Okumura is slain by such displays of sexiness.

The rest of the episode is the first half of chapter 10. This covers Lilysa and Okumura pulling all-nighters in the club room to get a cosrom ready. There’s really no service in this part.

The blu-rays were announced to be 8 volumes. With 24 episodes that means that there will likely be 3 episodes per volume. I wouldn’t go in hoping that the nipples will be present in the blu-ray’s, however. That’s high grade cope.

Hashimoto-sensei also provided more information about his editor telling them to make the characters leave the club room. Otherwise this series would have ended by volume 3. Volume 1 will be available on September 25th.

This episode concludes the rest of chapter 7, chapters 8 and 9 and halfway through 10.
