BOFURI Special Edition Fanservice Review

The rising of very-large-shield heroine…

Itai no wa Iya nano de Bougyoryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu. (aka BOFURI)

This is a pretty little work from Oonuma Shin (among the many, also director of Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu, , Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya, Imouto sae Ireba Ii., Nourin, Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry, Rokujouma no Shinryakusha!?, Sunohara-sou no Kanrinin-san).

The humungous title means “I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense.” and is basically a testament of how playing your way is definitely more fun than going with the flow.

Plot summary

Kaede starts playing yet another SAO look-alike game, but since no one ever explained her how you build a normal character or linked her the wikia of the game she does things at her own pace. As a result, she brutally crushes the game playing in a way no sane gamer would ever do.

Overall thoughts: This show is more on the side of “cute” than “sexy”, but it definitely makes a point of taking shots from intriguing angles and the smooth character design makes it all easy on the eyes. Even if not fanservice packed, it always keeps things interesting.
