Their interface is a bit different, it’s usually reserved for artists who charge per work or per video. I have no conditions on my videos, I’ll gladly make them for free, so I instead opted for a “monthly” model since content is going to be frequent. I also left off the “goal” aspect since that just felt too pushy for my comfort. I’m kind of torn though, because it would be fun for people to see how much support the site is getting and posting a goal would do that.
I don’t want to pressure anyone into giving and I want to stress that this is meant as a free site, but the money does help and it is appreciated. Especially right now, with my financial situation being very tight and now having to get yet another server.
Patreon’s monthly payment system works like any monthly subscription, meaning they can be cancelled any time. So if paying a little each month to help out is something that interests you, this option will work nicely, but there is no pressure to continue if that’s not your thing.
If all you want is to make a one time payment, you can email me at [email protected] and message me an amount you would like to donate. I’ll then send you a donation form with that amount. I’ll need an amount before I can send out the donation form.
Due to Paypal’s terms and conditions I can’t list them on this site, but I do have a personal account and I can make a transaction with you privately over email. I have long term plans to start a second non-ecchi site some day. A very minor adventure, mostly meant to review anime or otherwise scratch that writing itch. I’d have no problems putting my Paypal info out in the open there since it should be fine with them, but until then there is the option of emailing me and doing so in private.
Keep in mind that these companies do take a small cut, so the smaller the donation, the bigger the cut they get as a percentage. For example, if you donated 1 dollar via Paypal, I’d only see 67 percent of it. But send 10 dollars, and I’d see 94% of it.
I’m toying with the idea of offering a special video project for large donations, just not exactly sure how I’d implement it. If I figure something out that makes sense and isn’t awkward or unfair for anyone, I’ll let you guys know.
Of course, any money raised right now will go towards paying down the first year of service on the next hosting company, as well as renewing my Mediafire account another year and possibly investing in google drive for hosting videos.
