Ecchi Miscellanea: Spring 2020 (Part 4)

Looking around to see if there’s something else worth a look or two…

Here are all the shows that didn’t have much material or that were delayed because of the pandemic. It’s not much but some were pretty intense, in their own way…

Hachi-nan tte, Sore wa Nai deshou!

Your friendly isekai where a guy drops dead and gets reincarnated in a fantasy world as the 8th son of a poor country noble. Luckily, he discovers he can cast magic, so goes adventuring, finds money, finds a harem… that kind of thing. Good quality overall but rather tame as far as fanservice goes.

(It was still ten times better than Cheat Magician.)

Black Clover (11th cour ~ ep.132)

Another season of that one guy that can’t use magic in a world where everyone (and their dogs) are mages. This cour had like 4 episodes, so enjoy just this one cleavage shot.

Fruit Basket (Season 2, 1st cour)

Not much on the front of ecchi, since this is a classic shojo anime about a girl meeting an extended family of people that can turn into the Chinese zodiac’s animals, and that coincidentally are all smoking hot. They are mostly male, so let’s jump over that part and just meet the girl of the Horse (please insert joke about horsing).

Jashin-chan Dropkick (Season 2)

A psycho-dementia not-ecchi anime, even though the titular protagonist doesn’t wear clothes. Often the show features something interesting, though.

Hamefura
or
Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei shiteshimatta…

Literally ” My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!”, yet another isekai, yet another shojo. Damn spring… Well, in this anime a girl plays a harem bishonen Visual Novel but the next morning she meets Truck-kun and gets isekai-ed… in the world of the game she was playing (color me surprised). BUT she’s the villainess that is basically offed in all the endings. So she spends her whole existence trying to sidestep all the doom-flags the game (or the destiny) throws at her. Pretty fun anime, but not much fanservice except for the protagonist that from time to time gets in a nice dress or her BFF that dutifully showers us in cleavage-shots.

Tamayomi

A sports anime about baseball. Well… this kinda got my eye because, you know, thicc girls with well-toned bodies. It was mostly what promised except that the initial graphic quality was average at best, and after the pandemic struck, it just sunk below minimally acceptable levels.

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun T  (2nd cour)

This is not a real 2nd cour, but rather a meager 4 episodes, since this anime was interrupted too. Nothing really different from the previous cour: action girls… action moves… when magic and science meet miracles happen… those kinds of things.

Shokugeki no Soma (Season 5, 1st cour)

Just 2 episodes and then this show was postponed too. Well… it’s the old Food Wars doing Food Wars things. Maybe even a bit more fanservice-y than the previous season.

Overall Spring 2020 had a certain variety of shows, and is pretty amazing how most of them managed to keep airing on a weekly basis. Between the Olympic boob-fearing-hysteria and the pandemic we may not have gotten anything. So if you want my opinion, it’s all bacon over butter.

And now, before closing some wise words from our guest (Jashin-chan, check above).

Period. See you later.
