Isekai Meikyuu de Harem wo Episode 06 Fanservice Review

For every high, a low.

In an episode that is sure to disappoint those looking for service, I assume that most of you that did not tune out last episode will do so after this one. I did mention in the episode 01 review that this would likely come to pass. Quite simply, this series is not for everyone.

A few minor details on labyrinths are provided yet again. Only one party may challenge a boss at a time. Any party that wishes to challenge a floor boss must wait until the boss room is empty.

Michio and Roxanne challenge and kill the first floor boss. This allows them to access the second floor of the labyrinth. This is the kind of progression the series will showcase for quite some time.

Roxanne picking up the leaf dropped by the boss gives her access to the Herbalist job. They are able to mix these types of materials for medicinal purposes.

Michio remembers that it was the harvesting of the leaf that gave Roxanne the Herbalist job, so he decides to return to fight the boss again so he can acquire the job himself. There is a minor bit here in which Michio makes a mistake in assuming he could return to the boss room from the second floor, but upon trying, is sent back to the entrance of the labyrinth. Fearing that Roxanne may lose respect for him, Michio loudly exclaims he was simply experimenting, which Roxanne believes. I’m tempted to say this was intended to be comedic, but perhaps its to demonstrate Michio’s insecurity – that aspect of his character has yet to be fully explored even in the manga. Michio’s backstory prior to his isekai trip mostly remains exclusive to the Web Novel and Light Novel.

Michio wastes no time in using his newly acquired Herbalist skills, turned the leaf into an antidote.

Michio stops by to grab some medicine, and with this we also get some minor information on some of Michio’s passive skills, mostly in relation to his discounts/haggling.

With a new floor, come new monsters, and in greater quantities.

Michio is saved from starring in an anal birth insect doujin. As a reward, the majority of the remaining media items here are captures, as there is not much interesting movement for the remainder of the episode.

After being told by Roxanne that the number of encountered monsters will continue to increase as they travel to higher floors, Michio wonders what they can do if they ever encounter a large number of monsters. This is yet another hint to the viewers that Michio may be considering acquiring another slave. Thankfully, that slave ends up being a female.

Roxanne’s Children of the Corn esque stare is a bit creepy here. You would be forgiven in assuming that it was some kind of 1000 yard stare as a result of Roxanne being dead inside, but only if this had been a hentai of a particular genre, one that would make Michio’s angry face all the more appropriate. I hope Roxanne will regain her will to live in the BD’s. Fortunately, she seems to have done so for the remainder of this episode, because most captures following this are of Roxanne looking cute. Maybe the genre was josei after all?

As for the story, Michio spots the worst lookout (bandit) in the world staring at the trading house that Roxanne was sold in. Michio decides to relay this information to Alan, which leads to our next bit of plot that will be resolved in the next episode.

Michio was content with simply warning Alan, but Roxanne expressed a desire to return the gratitude shown to her by an old woman that works for Alan in the trade house. Michio offers his services (as a bodyguard) to Alan upon Roxanne’s request.

Roxanne apologizes for her selfishness, and for also accidentally revealing that they knew the man scoping the place out was a bandit. Michio’s ability to identify people at a glance is highly sensitive information that he’d like to keep as private as possible. Roxanne’s slip here probably should have upset Michio, but he simply tells Roxanne to be careful in the future.

This is your service for the week. I was hoping for at least a single nude shot of Roxanne but so be it. I am not keeping up with Vermeil but if that does not sate you then you’re in for a dry week. As usual, the webm at the bottom has the sound if that’s what you’re into.

As promised, Michio arrives at the tradehouse, setting up the plot for the next episode.

Webm Album

We are officially at the halfway point, and roughly at the end of Chapter 20. With the current pace you might think we’d end the anime at Chapter 40, but that would end us in the middle of Sherry’s first labyrinth visit which would be a bit awkward, so I don’t think that’s the case. I’m starting to think the anime will end at precisely the end of Chapter 37, which would give us one good solid look at Sherry, and one hell of a tease for a second season.

For the service seekers, there might be something for you next episode. That depends on if the animators decided to put in some budget for Michio having sex with Roxanne doggy style. You may point to episode 5’s fade to black scene as supporting evidence that this next episode will not have it, but I could also argue that the budget saved in cutting episode 5’s scene may have been done to put more work into the doggy style scene in episode 7. All we can do is wait and see. Even if next episode’s scene is cut, there is still one last major service scene to look forward to, and that is bath time with Roxanne, which I seriously doubt will be cut. And at this pace, seems likely to take place in episode 10, or even 11.

I wanted to mention this last episode but forgot, but after all that’s been seen to this point, this will likely end as a “two episode wonder,” so to say. Episode 04 and whenever bath time takes place, will be pointed to by fellow fanservice seekers as the standout episodes of the series. I am here for everything though, the dungeon crawling, the peaks and valleys of service, and the hours it takes to create these episode reviews.
