Love is in the air…when no one is watching
More forbidden love this week between our (my) favorite superhero/villain couple. The episode starts with a short recap of last week before diving into a significant milestone for their relationship – the first public date.
These two only pretend to fight when onlookers are around. At any other time they’re like awkward teenagers exploring their first love. Kinda precious.
Yellow ranger girl is suspected to be a prominent focus of fanservice throughout the season, judging from this gif in the opening.
She teases a bit of that in this episode as you’ll see later. Her arrival here means that the two love birds have to pretend to be enemies once again, which puts them in an awkward situation.
Desumi feels conflicted between her public persona as a villain, and private life as an ordinary girl who has ordinary girl aspirations of finding one true love. Fortunately Fuudo is hear to help her realize those desires…if he can manage to not screw up his plans for a first date.
I’d imagine I’m not the only person shipping a scandalous relationship between these two. The sexual tension is palpable, but innocent Fuudo remains committed to his beloved Desumi. He tries his hardest here to plan the ideal date.
No. The answer is no. Unfortunately, Fuudo manages to pick the worst possible date scenario for a cute girl – a gym. The result is somewhat predictable.
The more Misaki this show delivers, the better. Turns out it was her fault for this first date gone wrong, but things still manage to resolve themselves fine in the end.
Literally the perfect girlfriend. This would be an ideal moment for a first kiss but this is anime so, an interruption must prevent that from happening so early.
Pretty fun episode that builds off the momentum of last week. I’m enjoying this show quite a bit from a romantic comedy perspective, and the waifus are pretty cute to boot. Hopefully it continues to be good moving forward and the service escalates as their relationship deepens.
