Kyou no Asuka Show BD Fanservice Review Episodes 01 – 10

Who knew that oblivious girls could be so sweet and so sexy without intending too???

Early last year, delmogeny created a very nice fanservice compilation of a short anime called Kyou no Asuka Show.  I had heard about it and seen artwork from the anime and the manga which looked good.  Since it was 1080p and short and the raws looked really good, I decided to make it my first ever 1080p image stitches project.  I wasn’t a beginner anymore but I was still learning how to make quality stitches.  But all in all, I think my first ever 1080p stitches turned out pretty good even if I would do things differently now.

If you haven’t already, you should check out delmogeny’s Kyou no Asuka Show fanservice compilation.  He did a very good job even if he “did it on a whim”.  🙂

Kyou no Asuka Show is a anime short.  3-minutes per episode short including OP & ED.  It was an ONA that aired from 03.08.2012 till 05.01.2013.  And somehow, it got a BD box release.  That seems pretty rare for both an ONA and a short short anime.  Best of all, the video looks pretty good which indicates above average production values.

Omake

I wasn’t finding much omake for Asuka Show on the images boards.  Not until I checked the extras folder on the raws I was using.  Some HQ images too.

Thoughts 

I’m not usually a fan of short anime shorts (5 minutes or less).  Especially when it comes to fanservice and ecchi.  It usually doesn’t work out.  Sort of like mixing oil and water.  With a very short running time, a show usually only has time to make one or two decent gags or jokes an episode and that’s pretty much it.   Really doesn’t leave much time for a decent amount of fanservice.  And the production values are usually lower too.  The last two anime shorts that I thought worked as an ecchi show were 8 minutes an episode not 3.  But I became a fan of Kyou no Asuka Show.  Because it’s different and quality and amusing…

Asuka is a different kind of mc-chan.  She’s really cute and really amusing.  The fact that’s she’s so oblivious to her sexuality and the unintentional misunderstandings that she creates leads to one ecchi humor situation after another both visually and verbally.  I’ve always had a dirty sense of humor and find those situations amusing.  If you watch this show, watch this show for Asuka more than anything else…

I enjoyed making HQ HD stitches and webms for this show.  Even if I was still learning while I worked on this show a long time ago.  Nice to see 1080p that didn’t hurt my eyes.  Too many 1080p rips and raws might actually look better at 720p based on how the artwork looks (especially the character art).

No nipples and only a small amount of tasteful nudity but a decent amount of ecchi humor and visuals.  Kyou no Asuka Show might be worth checking out to see if you enjoy the humor and fanservice or not.  At 3 minutes an episode for a total of 60 minutes, it won’t take that much of your time to check out.

Notes

I used Reinforce 1080p BD raws for this review.  There were no subs so some of the ecchi humor was not covered in this review.  On the other hand, the average bit rate was 7+ Mbps and the video looks pretty good.

Most of the media for this review was created a long time ago so the format and content of this review are different from my usual reviews of late.  I worked with what I had.  I would do things differently now.
