Return of the lolis? Not to mention yuri?? And a bunch of stragglers too???
This month’s anime posters are a mixed bag. Including more lolis than usual. And more yuri than usual. Or so it seems. Add to that, stragglers that are not being included in yande.re pools lately. Fortunately some of the posters are still rather fetching…
What’s up with the stragglers (aka posters not in a yande.re pool)? Turns out that several of the smaller magazines for anime posters like Animedia and MC☆Axis used to get yande.re pools on a regular basis but not lately. And this has been going on for months. So many that I would not have been the least bit surprised if one or more of the magazines had ceased publication entirely. Not the case for these two but they have scaled back significantly on anime posters. To the tune of one or a few every month or few. Or maybe they’re not getting scanned? But yande.re has been scanning posters from those magazines for years. so cutting back seems more likely.
Anyway, some of the straggler posters are rather fetching so I will try to look for straggler posters worth including as I can when putting together the monthly posters post. Maybe not on monthly basis but I’ll try only include only recent posters and not go back more the beginning of the previous season.
Unfortunately, yande.re does not have tags for magazines, so I included links at the bottom for the straggler anime posters that should catch almost all of the posters for each anime for the past few years. Some booru do have tags for magazines but they aren’t kept up to date nearly as well as they should be. (Ironically because some of those booru import their posters from yande.re which does not have tags for magazines. Catch-22.)
Starting with 2019, we are treating Megami as the benchmark for anime posters and including all of their posters in our monthly posters blog posts. And any other magazine’s posters that get a yande.re pool in between the Megami pools will be considered as well. But only selected posters or VHR (Very High Resolution) scans. It really needs to look like something that might actually be found on an anime fan’s wall or it’s not really a poster. So no walls of text or walls of images, unless there is some compensating service to make up for the distractions. Also no posters from anime shows that are likely to never have any service or sex appeal of any kind even in their posters.
Also, because somebody asked in the comments, JBOX (aka J-LIST) has some of the magazines for sale. Now mixed in with books for some reason. They do sell out so you should buy them asap if you are interested.
Once again, Megami pools are the bookends.
