When your mom joins the party.
Having covered an isekai last summer with Maou I’m going to be doing the same again this year with the mom isekai. The main obvious draw of this is going to be the mother and having her thrown into the standard isekai setting along with the main character. Most of the service for this first episode is minor with the exception of cleavage and the like but we should start getting into much more as the story goes on based on the contents of the LN. Also the name of this show is too long to fit in the title so just have to shorten it.
Masato is taking a survey that asks various questions about his mother including if going on an adventure with her would lead to them getting closer. As his mom Mamako tries looking at it he pushes her away. We then get the OP which has some stuff to it to cap. Actually maybe I should just go through this capping anything that has her breasts on display.
Later someone working for the government name Shirase comes to talk with them as part of a survey the government is doing. She asks Masato if he would ever have interest in entering a videogame like their research has said gamers would like to do. When he says he does she hits some keys on the keyboard without explaining anything as he gets sent into the game. After arriving and seeing he has been teleported into a game he gets excited thinking of all the stuff he can do as part of his adventure and without his mom pestering him only to see that she has now teleported into the game as well.
Guess they are going to ignore her insanely high strength stat and not say anything.

After arriving they visit the king who explains the situation to them. He tells them they are inside a new online game that is in testing phase that uses a new technology to teleport the player into the actual game itself and they need players to serve as testers. The king gives both of them their stats and job class of just normal hero and normal hero’s mother telling them those are the classes not chosen yet and they need them to play as those classes so they can gather testing data on them. He says since he is just a normal hero he isn’t expected to do great things or anything like that and to just do whatever as part of the testing process.
Mamako has no idea how the game works so the king gives her a guidebook to the game for her to read so she can understand things. He also tells them that players for this game were selected based on their answers to a survey and most people filled it out anonymously but those that put their real name on it were easier to track down and hence that is how he and his mom were selected to be game testers since Masato wrote his real name on it by mistake. After asking why his mom has to be with him the king tells him that his mom being there is an important part of the game that will be made clear as time goes on (If we actually had a smart main character he would had been able to put the survey he did earlier and this stuff together and realize the connection). The king tells him that as a starter bonus he has a gift for them and takes them someplace (stupid gamestop preorder bonuses).
The feeling when your first videogame generation is being used for “old” characters.
The king shows them three swords and allows them to pick one. Masato takes the middle sword while the king tells him it will be up to the actions of him and the other players if this game ever can leave closed beta and be released for real. Mamako decides she will take one as well but takes both of the remaining ones instead and thus gets to dual wield swords now.
After getting their weapons they go to the training area to do a tutorial battle as Mamako is able to kill everything without issue with her two strong attacks while Misato has a minor beam attack that barely does anything. He then gets depressed at how weak he is as his mom tries to cheer him up.
Masato still pissed about having a weak attack complains about her being there as well with him and asks why she is there since she came in after him which means she must had talked to Shirase about it. Mamako tells him he isn’t supposed to know about it revealing that she does know the reason for her being sent there with him but can’t tell him. After he yells at her for not answering she cries and tells him all she wants is to be able to go on adventures with him and that is the reason she came along. Masato felling guilty says he is sorry and forgives her and that she can travel along with him.
Don’t know if it’s plot induced stupidity or Masato is just supposed to be dumb but the entire purpose is easy to figure out. You do a survey asking you if going on adventures with your mom would make you closer. You then get visited by a mysterious person after submitting the survey whom also mentions surveys asking if you like the idea of entering a game. After answering you end up in a videogame with your mom as you are told straight out that players were selected based on a survey the very thing you just did a few days ago and this whole thing is a test for a new game and the existence of your parent is a crucial part of the game. Any idiot can figure out the entire thing is some experiment to see if people can get closer to their parent by going on adventures with them so they look for candidates that have parent issues through a survey and an interest in videogames and then put both in one together as a way to see if doing this will indeed help parents and children get closer by going on adventures/playing videogames together before they release this therapy game to the public. So the entire game and thus this show is supposed to be a bonding exercise but I’m guessing the main character won’t realize it till the end.
They decide to head to the first nearby town and after arriving notice how some character models must still be in development stages. Mamako looks through the guidebook and says it tells them the first thing they should do is go to the adventurer’s guild so they can get party members to join them.
After arriving Mamako uses prison logic of starting shit to prove you are the strongest to everyone by asking for her sword as she destroys the front of the building chasing everyone away. They then see that the person in charge of the guild is Shirase from before.
After talking to her for a bit, Shirase gives them a list of all the adventurers they have at the guild to select from. Masato says he will decide since he is experienced in playing online games. After selecting the three people he wants in the group out of the choices his mom notices how all three of them are cute girls and asks which of the three is his type. When Masato asks why that matters she tells him that since these party members will be spending a lot of time together with him and experiencing a lot of stuff together as well it is like choosing a girlfriend or future wife also. Masato is confused at what she is getting at as she tells him that the next step is for all three of them to have interviews with her next as the episode ends.

Getting a milf centric show is nice seeing as how we don’t get them often or ever pretty much in most cases. The mom is of course the main draw and the main reason anyone would be watching the show and fortunately she does get the main focus here and even gets plenty of service in the source material as well. Masato is kind of a boring and unlikeable main character compared to say Diablo last year in Maou whom instantly became an interesting character in the first episode but there is always a chance he could change as the show goes on. Not like it would matter too much since the mom is who we care about and she is already a likeable mother character after the first episode.
The story actually does something I really liked for a show like this and that is removing any bullshit by explaining everything from the start and having a setup that isn’t supposed to be taken seriously. This isn’t a case of the characters being trapped in a world and needing to find a way out or trying to learn what happened to get them there or the need to save the world or anything like that. It’s just an online game they are beta testing and they know it and that is it. No need to waste time on any lore or world building or other stuff like that. Everyone knows this is just a videogame and there is no life threatening situation or other drama. That is actually a really good setup for a show like this as that means they can spend the whole time just going on random adventures and taking a non serious comedic approach to the story as everyone just fucks around doing whatever since it’s a videogame and nothing they need to stress over. We probably will get a bunch of other videogame related references or elements also making it even more appealing to those who play games as well. Hopefully they embrace this and just keep the whole thing a laid back comedy isekai the whole time with no real threat to take seriously which will also hopefully lead to service situations.
The service in this first episode was fairly light but things do start getting better later on. The next episode preview shows the slime part in which a slime eats her clothes away is going to be in the next episode. Kind of surprised we reached that part so fast as it is volume 2 in the manga but it does have a very interesting important thing about it. I’m not expecting much as they could change it and remove this important thing but even if they don’t it would be a BD thing anyway but the slime scene does have nudity in the volume version of the manga. Its very minor and almost hard to see but you can see nipples. The LN itself also what looks to be a very slight partial sighting as well during a hotspring picture for later so both sources do have hints of it to them. So the real question is how will JC Staff approach this kind of stuff? Will they remove any partial nudity and the like and treat this as non nude or will they expand on it and make this full nude.
When we eventually reach a hotspring part that will be a good indicator and something to look forward to as well. I’m not getting my hopes up just yet otherwise that could lead to disappointment. So instead it’s just something to keep in the back of your mind. I’m not expecting any kind of nudity for BD or anything like that so far but it’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility just really small currently. In other words unlike other series that have never even shown any slight hints of nipples before and thus excepting as such in the anime would be odd that isn’t the case here. Though it’s not in your face this series does have some parts that have censored nudity with slightly visible partial nipples. When stuff like that happens it gives me some hope since it shows the series isn’t completely prudish and is just a step away from giving what we want. JC Staff has done nudity as well so anything is possible. Like I said I’m not expecting anything right now based on what we have seen so far since it’s only the first episode obviously but the chance is there and though it is a very small chance right now it is at least better than zero like in the case of other shows. Should give us something to look forward to and see how they handle it plus the show is decent as well so that helps too. Also something to point out is they already announced an OVA to be released on March 25th next year so that will also give us a shot at nudity as well if by chance the show itself doesn’t end up having any. Hopefully stuff like this is successful so it can maybe spark a milf fad leading to us getting more shows and even games focused on mothers and older woman.
This show was a lot easier to do instead of hensuki. I was supposed to do a post on that but the first episode didn’t have enough content. Also there are other issues with it as well which I would bring up when or if I do posts on it. Have to hope the second episode has more content but so far the verdict is out on if I will commit to that show. This one on the other hand is much more enjoyable. Hopefully we one day get a milf r18 show as that would be really interesting to cover especially if it involved multiple ones.
