Going to the beach with your mom.
The ova has released and it’s a beach episode. Unfortunately it does’t deliver nudity of any of the girls. However we do get plenty of swimsuit service throughout the episode.
Shirase has invited everyone to a beach resort as a reward for all the work they have done for her so far in the show by completing her quests she has given them.
Porta tries blowing up a float but passes out trying so Masato tells her he will do it instead which results in Wise freaking out about how that would be an indiect kiss with Porta if he does that. After Masato makes fun of her for caring about something like that she casts a wind spell on him and runs.

Masato watches everyone while thinking he is too old for this stuff as Shirase tells him she has an idea on what he can do instead as she points to a watermelon. Porta uses her crafting to create a wooden sword so they can play watermelon smashing with Masato being the first to start.
After they spin Masato around and he starts he begins to follow Mamako’s clapping out of instinct from when he was a little kid. This results in him groping her instead as a result. Out of anger he throws the sword away only for it to come flying back and hitting him in the head knocking him out as a result.
When Masato wakes up from the injury they realize he has lost his memories and doesn’t know who he is or anyone else either. He is told his name and when he asks about Mamako and why he gets a strange feeling from her she just tells him she is an important person to him but doesn’t explain she is his mom. They then decide they will leave it up to Mamako to try and restore his memories.
They watch Mamako and Masato do things together and are happy that they are getting along. As Masato helps her she tells him it was always one of her dreams to have him help her in the kitchen like that. Masato gets happy and tells her he wants to make more of her dreams come true and asks her what else she wants to do as he is willing to do anything to make it happen.
Mamako tells him how she wants to play twister with him and so the two of them go to play it on the beach as the others watch.

Masato runs to do the same thing to Mamako that she did earlier to cover her up saying how he doesn’t want anyone else to see her naked.
When they return from crabbing the others notice that Mamako has still yet to make any progress on getting Masato’s memories back. So they decide they will do things on their own now to help restore them since Mamako is failing at it.
Wise and Medhi try to distract Masato by surrounding him so they can hit him in the back of the head when he is off guard so they can try to restore his memories that way. At the same time they can use this as a chance to compete against each other to see who he likes more between the two of them. Masato ends up rejecting them both by telling them he doesn’t like scheming thots or flat chested girls like Wise.
Both Medhi and Wise rage over being rejected while Masato goes to spend more time with Mamako.
On the beach Masato confesses to Mamako that he loves her and wants to spend their lives together. Masato goes to kiss her only for them to get interrupted by a giant kranken that grabs Mamako and pulls her away. The fact that Mamako didn’t reject the kiss means she was completely fine with fucking him right there if they hadn’t gotten interrupted. Could had turned this into a super interesting episode like all that shota/milf incest hentai manga.
Masato grabs Mamako and pulls her away from the kranken before it is able to do anything to her. As a result it comes back and takes him instead. After he is pulled away Porta runs up and gives Mamako her swords as she attacks the kranken and saves him.
As Masato is drowning underwater he remembers the times he would be at the beach as a kid with Mamako and how she would save him when he fell in the water. This results in him being able to get his memories back as he sees Mamako spread apart the water (much like he was about to do to her legs 5 minutes ago) as she runs up to save him and take him back to the shore.
As they cook and eat the kranken that Mamako just killed, they tell Masato about how he lost his memories as he says he can’t remember anything that happened during the time he had amnesia. So he doesn’t know Mamako was fully trying to get his dick this whole time. Shirase asks Mamako if she is fine with him being back to normal since this means he won’t continue to act the happy way he was before towards her and wanting to be with her. She tells her it’s fine since she got to see that no matter how old he gets he will still always need help from his mom just like how she just saved him from what just happened. Because of this she doesn’t have to worry about being lonely since he will always need her at some point.
The kranken then has one of it’s tentacles explode from being cooked and ends up hitting everyone else in the face. This results in Shirase dying while everyone else but Masato loses their memories like he did. And with that the ova ends.
Other than lacking nudity this episode had more service than any of the other episodes did overall and was probably the most entertaining. A shame that they didn’t go all out and give nudity in this though. They teased Mamako nudity during the episode but then denied it which made no sense since chances are this will be the last episode we see and the fact that they teased it means they knew people wanted to see it so no reason to hold back. Even if for some reason they didn’t want to show Mamako nude they still had both Medhi and Shirase to use as potential others especially Medhi seeing as she is Wise’s rival and we got Wise nudity during the show. Would had also been nice to have the other moms put in this episode as well if only for an excuse to make them naked also. No Mamako nudity could had been somewhat forgivable if we got new nudity of others in place of it.
A bath scene that showed everyone nude would had been perfect and was something I was expecting to happen seeing as how that could work in with the plot. They spent the whole show taking baths together so having one done here in an attempt to restore Masato’s memories would had fit perfectly. Being an ova it could had taken advantage of that ova status and instead of having the bath be non nude like most of them were this could had made no effort to hide it. Nudity itself could had worked with the plot as well with Wise getting nude again on purpose to try and remind him of that one time to restore his memories. This then could had resulted in Medhi not wanting to be beaten by Wise proceeding to do the same thing as they both shove their uncensored nudity at him in an effort to cure him. Mamako could had did the same thing also, thinking maybe it would remind him of the times they took a bath together when he was a baby. That could had been the perfect setup to give us both Mamako, Medhi, and Wise nudity and yet they missed out on it.
Alternatively making the plot be Mamako losing her memories instead or along with Masato would had resulted in plenty of potential opportunities. Especially if she ended up attracted to Masato thus leading to us seeing how young Mamako would had acted towards his dad but directed at Masato this time like in her early days. That would also allow for some Medhi and Wise service as well as they try to beat Mamako and get Masato attracted to them instead because they don’t want him to be with her for obvious reasons. In the end though the only instance of nudity in the show was Wise during episode 3. Hard to tell why that was or who they were trying to make the show’s audience be. Had they never included nudity in the first place then it could be argued maybe they were trying to take the family friendly route for the most part. After all this is the series that had events where showing up with your mom to buy the LN got you stuff. But the thing is they did include nudity and there was some incest like service in episode 2 plus the amount of stuff in this ova and not to mention some of the merchandise ranging from Mamako hug pillows and retail bonuses of lewd images of her really makes it conflicting. Would someone really watch a show with some of that content like this with their mom? It’s japan so who knows maybe they would watch a show with nudity and some subtle mother incest content but most I assume wouldn’t.
So who knows what they were thinking by having one instance of nudity at the start and none after that. It feels like really bad trolling and planning since some people watching might stop watching the show because of the early nudity unaware that it’s not what the show would be while others might pick it up because of said nudity expecting some nude service throughout only to end up disappointed after. So you pretty much alienate two groups in one go which is a dumb move to make. Was not having nudity in the ova all a ploy to hopefully get a season 2 made where they could deliver more? Maybe but considering the sales I’m skeptic that will happen unless the LN sales got a large boost from the show. Saleswise we have vol 1- 1480, vol 2 – 1068, vol 3 – 1010, vol 4 -didn’t rank so unknown, vol 5 – 946, vol – 6 didn’t rank so unknown. So not sales numbers that scream huge success but there have been shows that sold worse that still got a second season so all depends on some other factors.
With that said I would like to see a season 2 if we get one down the line. Maybe they would do a second ova with that and finally give nudity or use one of the other bath scenes later on to do someone else nude like Wise. Medhi and Wise’s moms do show up again later also. Plus a season 2 would give us a chance to potentially get Porta’s mom animated which I really want to see. Storywise though they probably would need at least 3 seasons in total to really reach a solid conclusion for the show either by ending after Porta’s mom stuff or going a bit further after that to when we get to see Masato’s dad/Mamako’s husband who shows up later in the LN joining the game. There were no real season 2 hints in this though so my guess is they aren’t expecting to make more but who knows maybe things could change later on or at least another ova gets made either as another separate release or LN pack in. So for the time being it looks like the show is over unless we get something else one day.
I wanted Medhi’s mom to be nude in this but it would not be. Though I really wanted Porta’s mom most but that wasn’t going to happen since she hasn’t been introduced yet. Tragic that we won’t get to see Porta’s glasses milf animated. So ends this past summer’s isekai much like the previous summer’s was isekai maou. I don’t think this summer has any or at least none I would be covering. Wish maou got a season 2 since it was two years now to cover that.
