This was a pretty intense project, with almost 10 minutes of non-nude usable footage in just the first two episodes.

The special, though hurt some by lower production values, was a stroke of genius in it’s execution and upped the nudity volume to a level that made me feel comfortable with a single volume release.
I see bits and pieces of two previous ARMS nude ecchi series when I watch Sekatsuyo. The first being very obvious: Sekatsuyo shares the same director as Hagure Yuusha (Rion Kujo), who’s style is very easy to pick out. He obviously lacks for art-talent, but makes up for it somewhat with a very unique “sheen” style of artwork that can be detected all the way back to when he directed S-cry-ed. Given his two most recent works (Yuusha being the other), it seems appropriate that Kujo’s directorial debut was in hentai.
There’s also one other thing Kujo does very well: drawing big fat titties with chubby nipples. No paste-on nipples on BD for this guy. To say the least, I was more than a little happy when nudity for this series was officially confirmed a few days ago.
The other ARMS anime I remember when watching this show is Master of Martial hearts, mainly because of all the wailing and depictions of cruelty and agony to beautiful women. Also the low production values, and the laughably bad writing and music. Not my cup of tea, particularly the violence/cruelty part, but if bare breasts are involved, it is very hard for me to say no.
Anyway, I really like this series’ emphasis on non-nude service while finding ways to add nudity without damaging the canon of the manga all that much. A few pointless shower scenes and a faptastic four minute nudity filled special on each blu-ray disk get the job done. Surprisingly, just those additions alone added up to having very good nudity volume, at least in the case of this first edition.
I seriously hope Sekatsuyo sells relatively well, or at least better than Hagure Yuusha did. Future seasons of ecchi anime depend on sales of shows like these. ARMS went a bit out of their comfort zone with a censored broadcast, and I’m hoping that this kind of a sales tactic can help boost their numbers, even if it is only a little.
You may have noticed that I didn’t have a separate section for the blu-ray special. On one of my more recent projects I decided it would be better to treat all materials like they are episodes and bundle them in the nude and non-nude sections. That way all the nudity in the video is bunched up in a nice, compact form, completely eliminating the “island effect” of having nudity watered down by the surrounding by non-nude moments.
Now, I definitely won’t promise you guys a torrent release for every single volume of every ecchi series, and I can’t even promise that the remaining volumes of Sekatsuyo will get special treatment either. I’m just taking this on a case by case basis, and if volume two is as impressive as volume one is, and it gets a stand alone release (hardly a guarantee these days), then you can probably expect another video like this one.
As far as the BD source itself, please do me a favor and don’t ask for it. I am not a raw provider, and I sure as hell don’t want the real raw providers out there to think that I am one. I count on those guys big time to provide raws, the last thing I want is for them to take a release off because they think I’ve got it covered. Because I sure as hell don’t.
