Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san Fanservice Review Episode 05

Yuuna and Chisaki bond at school, and Nonko does her best to beat a deadline.

The first half focuses on Chisato attempting to communicate with Yuuna at school.  The two form a strong bond of friendship, and there’s some fanservice fun along the way.

It’s worth noting that the shot above is non-nude in the manga.  So there’s no guarantee of nipples on BD in this shot.

Eyecatch.

The second story arc is about Nonko’s life as a manga artist.  Up against a deadline, she uses Kogarashi in an erotic role-play to help inspire her for writing ideas at the last minute.

The shot above had nipples in the manga (see below), so expect a redraw.

The lightbeam nude scene with the beer can as seen above appears to be anime original.

That ass.  God damn.

Next episode teaser

Up next: Ms. Nakai’s Secret Adventure (ch.19) and A sweet Day Off with Yuuna (ch.7).

Looks like the story is jumping around a bit.  Makes sense, as the next chapter has already been adapted (into the OVA) and the chapters after that have an ‘end of a season climax’ vibe (Oboro and Genshiro abducting Yuuna for marriage purposes).

Nipple sightings in relevant source material chapters:

One nude scene in the manga, plus one anime original nude shot for two total this week.

Overall Thoughts:

Watching this episode, especially the first half, it really hit me how much heart this anime has.  Yuuna and Chisaki’s budding friendship is surprisingly compelling as both come across as three dimensional characters.  There’s oddly a kind of ‘sisterhood’ vibe to this series, despite it being a very thirsty one.

Kogarashi is already maybe my favorite MC in an ecchi series. He’s heroic without being cheesy, he’s not a creep, not a female-phobe. He’s got a lot of talent, and he saves the day without spouting cliches. And maybe best of all, the series doesn’t force him to be a bigger character than he needs to be. The story is just fine with having him taking a back seat to the girls when it needs to. He almost feels like a side-character more than a main character, and that’s a good thing.

Once again there isn’t much in terms of service variety, though still pretty good quality for how limited it is.  Loli-fans might be a tad disappointed so far.  I guess the good news is that Chitose gets her own half-episode next week, but glancing at the manga chapter there’s almost no service in it.
